Really glad Berry was willing to use a valuable pick on a kicker. It was a glaring need and every team that is serious about contending has a good, reliable kicker. We desperately needed one and hopefully York is that guy for us.

I agree with the sentiment that kickers are worth a capital investment I just don’t think I agree drafting one is a route I would go in the future

But I would trade a 2nd for Justin Tucker every day and give him 10M+ per year

Unfortunately for whatever reason kickers going to the nfl is a weird crap shoot

Every metric of Cade York checked off the boxes. Strong leg, went to a big time school, kicked under pressure in big games. Only problem is he's a 22 year old kid that got too full of himself and thought his shit don't stink. Give him 2-3 years and he might be a good one.

Where are all these sentiments now that Browns weren't serious about winning, and Berry never cuts his draft picks?

York very well figure it out and have a good career but it couldn't be Cleveland right now...

Eta: the refusal to give up on draft picks was definitely an argument here almost entirely because the people saying York was safe used that as the basis of their argument. No one was questioning if the browns were serious about winning. That’s 100% straw, man

When is as the last time the Browns drafted an LSU player who wasn't a complete letdown? I guess the jury is still out on Delpit, but Louisiana don't do Brown and Orange so good.
