Carmelo Anthony

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would literally burn a baby as a human sacrifice to make that happen.

Oh yeah, totally. It's been 4 years of such shit basketball, I'd gladly take a fun but flawed roster over another round of asset collection and fan base keyboard smashing. We could give the Knicks a couple younger players(TT, Waiters, Bennett, choose 2)a pick or two and Jack(plus Gee/Hopson) for Melo and we'd be way better next season. Then you'd still have the ability to do something with Deng and Hawes even if LeBron wasn't coming back.

Melo would be the 2nd greatest player ever to play in Cleveland.

Again, why would we give the Knicks all that for a guy who could literally sign here outright? There's no point in giving up the farm for Melo. You give up enough to grease the deal so the Knicks take back roughly equal contracts (say Varejao, Hopson, Gee, and picks), which leaves our cap clean for another free agent (I'll give you a hint, his name is LeBron James).

I don't think the Knicks are just going to accept a bunch of ballast for Melo in a s&t. Maybe you don't include Waiters as I suggested but they aren't going to take a total pu-pu platter of non-guaranteed guys. They'd have to get something they can hang their hat on. If you're going to send them shit, they'd be like, sign him outright then. I don't think they'd want a bunch of salary tied up in non-usable guys. They're like 14m or so over the projected tax line(including melo), it would cost them like 42million bucks to take back garbage.

If you are getting Carmelo and LeBron you don't have enough ball for Kyrie too. You keep Waiters on that team because he will at least keep the ball moving. Kyrie and Carmelo taking turns with 15 second isos on offense would be a mess.

i have to imagine a different play style from Kyrie with LeBron and Carmelo on his team. Look at the all star game, kyrie assisted melo 6 times for 3s. Kyrie HAS to iso, if he doesnt then Waiters does..Gee isnt gonna do a damn thing and if JJ isnt hitting his shots hes gonna fuck it up too.

That's what the first-rounders are for. At most I think you give them one young player, and certainly not Waiters. Hopson and Gee are totally non-guaranteed, and Varejao can be waived for like five million, meaning they wouldn't be charged anywhere near 42 million.

So it begins.

You're going overboard with this stuff.

Yo, optimus, I've been as hard on Kyrie as anyone. I've advocated moving him for a top 3 pick. But Dion Waiters is not now nor will he ever be better than Kyrie Irving. He's just as likely to stop the ball as Irving.

Cavaliers should be serious in pursuing a Melo/LeBron pairing. We have the cap room, and we can also S&T Melo if needs be.

Phil won't S&T Melo. He will try and play hardball with him.

I understand with law school if you were too busy to watch the games last year, especially after the all star break. But you shouldn't speak out of school if you haven't.

You don't need to hunt me down every time I post something about Waiters, and I don't even remember when I posted that. I'm sorry Tristan Thompson sucks. It's ok to be wrong about a player. I've been wrong plenty. I didn't think Kawhi Leonard would be much of a player. I thought Derrick Williams would be a very good PF. None of us are right 100% of the time.

Melo is the first domino, Rudy Gay opts in, now all eyes on LeBron....
