Carmelo Anthony

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Would you like Melo on this team if you didn't have to trade Love?

  • Yes

  • No

  • Depends on who we have to trade (really?)

Wonder if New York would be interested in Rubio. Could work out a 3 way trade with shump going to Minnesota and Rubio going to NY. Maybe rose goes elsewhere too.

Yeah - basically I don't understand the timing of of the Anderson trade. I like the trade itself, it just seems like something you do 10 minutes before the trade deadline, not a week in advance.

Maybe, but they don't have assets or any money to spend. They want to maximize what little flexibility they have, and strike fast.

I just can't shake this weird feeling that it's destiny for Melo to join LeBron on this quest and help him achieve GOAT status (with Love here as well, of course). A trade is hard to manufacture with all teams getting what they want, but it's not impossible. And if any GM could get it done, it would be Griff. Everything is dead quiet right now but I don't remember there being even one rumor about the Korver trade...

Have you not seen what Carmelo has done to every team he's been on?

I've thought about this for months. And I've finally made a decision. I would only be okay with giving up:

Shumpert
Felder
Liggins
McRae
picks
TPEs

I don't like the idea of parting with RJ or Channing, let alone Love or JR. The chemistry on this team is arguably the best in the league. That can NOT be messed with for less than a Pelicans-esque swindle.

WE won the title. We have some needs, but taking a huge risk is not the way to do it. JR and Love will both be back for the playoffs. As long as we don't add any injuries or reaggravate old ones, this team WILL be in the Finals (even if the Celtics get Melo or Butler), and we put ourselves in great position to beat GS again.

I mean we can't combine TPEs with those guys. So I think we'd have to include RJ or Frye. So basically you wouldn't do the Melo deal? Haha

That would make getting Melo impossible.

If Melo waived his trade kicker, and we assume that Bron/Kyrie/Love/TT/Korver/JR are excluded, there are only two deals that make the $ work.

Shumpert/Frye/Jefferson
Or
Shumpert/Frye/Liggins/McRae/Felder.

I would probably pull the trigger on both deals. Melo is too talented to pass on for a package like that.

But the closer we get to the deadline, I feel like the Melo trade in general to any team has flamed out. Maybe it is revisited this summer and we can make things interesting, but I honestly would say it's like less than 5% to happen at this point. (My percentages are not related to or influenced by Ben's , lol)
