He was traded for the trade exception. We didn't give them anything accoridng to a clippers beat writer.

They were going to have to cut him anyway because of their lack of roster space. The Clippers might be sending Dekker and a sweetener for eating his contract.

I don't see much potential in that highlight video, but I trust Koby. This seems like another low risk/high reward type deal.

Nice thing is if he works out in CLE we can give him a QO and if he doesn't we can let him walk. Him and Cedi at PF and SF in small ball lineups could be nice defensively.

Looks like just the Trade Exception. Hard to find any fault in getting a young player with rotational potential that is inexpensive for free. If he doesn't work out then the Cavs really lose nothing. If he turns into a good rotational guy, the Cavs can extend the QO and match any offer after next season.

Dekker is a solid and young wing. Would rather take a swing on him for this squad next year instead of Okaro White. Watched him a lot when he was at Wisky, but kind of lost tabs on him last year.

Can't shoot from distance well, but he's still a rather efficient guy from the floor. Rotation next season is looking interesting to say the least:

PG | Sexton / Clarkson
SG | Hill / Nwaba / Smith
SF | Osman / Korver / Dekker
PF | Love / Frye / Preston
C | Nance / Thompson / Zizic

Jury still out on Rodney Hood, but I honestly don't expect him back as of now. Find a way to dump off TT and Smith and we could be looking at a fun year.

Youngish player with basically no risk acquiring him. No reason for us to get our hopes way up, but he is still young enough to improve and maybe become a solid 3 and D wing if he can fix that jumper.

Not sure about low risk/high reward. More like low risk and low/medium reward. Still a good move, IMO.
