Nobody on this team is safe. The Cavs are taking and making calls on everyone. They are even taking calls about Irving (although I don't know if they are dangling him out there right now). Plenty of suitors for Deng in sign and trades.

From what I'm hearing I don't expect the Cavs to come away this off-season with any future assets or cap space. They are going all in. The team they build will be the team they think has a chance to win it all in a few years.

Edited to add: Nobody knows the Cavs preference right now when it comes to the draft because the Cavs won't make up their minds until they get the top 5 or 6 guys in for a workout and thorough physical. Until that happens its just speculation on everyone's part.

Edited to add part 2: Just got an email from a national guy who said "Embiid is going #1 regardless of who is picking".

Time to start thinking of possible Deng destinations and who we could get back in return.

I feel like I saw Phoenix listed as a possible Deng landing spot. Wouldn't mind getting back a Morris Twin (Markeiff please), Archie Goodwin, and maybe recoup that first we gave up for Deng originally.

...to be used in a subsequent trade, of course :chuckles:

It would be a nice move to get a useful player for Deng.

An underrated part of our ability to transform and add to the team this year is Deng and Hawes in seperate sign and trades. Both will be in demand. I especially see demand as high for Deng in the western conference by teams like Phoenix, GS, Portland, Houston, and LAC. That conference is brutal and full of brilliant offensive players. Adding a respected veteran plus defender on the wing will be a top option of a lot of teams.

I imagine that they are actively making calls on most of the roster and in the case of Kyrie, Deng, and Hawes, letting teams know that they will listen to offers.

Kyrie for Kevin Love straight up. Kevin must waive his early out. Dion at PG. Lebron at SF(only reason I want Kevin) . Kevin at PF. Embiid at C. Trade for a SG (Afflalo ?)

As long as we draft Embiid, I don't care who we trade.

As long as we come out of this with Embiid and one of Irving or Waiters (or preferably both), then I will get over whatever other things they fuck up.

Kahn is not still in Minny. Why whould they trade for Kyrie(who will not want to stay) with Ricky Rubio already in place.

I think again its important to distinguish the difference in "being willing to listen to offers on anyone" versus actively making outgoing calls trying to offer up Kyrie.

The main point is just, they will do anything and everything to have a team that is built to compete for the Finals next year.
