Cavs Coaching Search

I don't really consider the Bobcats coaching job to be competition for us. While Charlotte is certainly a nicer city than Cleveland, their roster is an absolute mess right now. No coach in their right mind would take that job over ours.

Charlotte, Sacramento. These are the teams I worry about becoming. Changing coaches every 5 minutes, as if a new coach is going to fix the problems with the roster. It's not a good way to proceed.

Mike Dunlap is worse than Flip Saunders.

I'll only worry if we fire our new coach at the end of next season.

Maybe I can apply for the Charlotte job, though. It's walking distance. :)

I thought Mike Dunlap did a decent job in Charlotte. I mean, the team was rarely competitive and had a league worse point differential, but that roster is just awful. Kemba Walker is the best player on the team. Second best is a contest between MKG, Gerald Henderson, and Byron Mullens. The fact that they didn't finish with the worst record is a minor miracle. They easily had the least talent in the league. Slightly over-achieved.

I will say, at least, The Bullshit Whisperer unabashedly has no claims to be an actual journalist.

The journalists that have insider info are constantly scratching backs and doing favors. They use the favors to get info. They trade info to get favors. They verify info before they write it and they make sure it won't burn their sources. They only write about a small amount of what they know so they still have chips to keep playing the game. If you don't play the game, you end up like MSB with no info that we don't already know.

The Bullshit Whisperer tries to skip a lot of the steps in the game and he's pretty blatent when he shills. He's definitely a step down journalistically and ethically.

I thought we agreed collectively as a forum that any time we post an The Bullshit Whisperer article, we make sure to put his name at the TOP, so we don't have to read the whole thing just to find out at the end that he wrote it.

But the thing is, has The Bullshit Whisperer essentially not been the first person reporting all this stuff regarding the coaching search? He got the Phil stuff, got laughed at, then ESPN reported the same thing days later. The morning Byron got fired, The Bullshit Whisperer was saying that Mike Brown was absolutely a candidate to replace him. Yet, for some reason, everyone on this board continues to rip him.

I don't think The Bullshit Whisperer is that bad at all. Especially for a guy whose job is to cover the league, not a specific team.

Read upwards a bit.

The Bullshit Whisperer will go ahead & report any information he hears as soon as he hears it.

With that approach, of course you're going to be right at times.

Charlotte needs to do something big.

Bring in a Jackson-Shaw executive-coach pair. Go back to the Hornets. Sign Bynum or trade for Gasol. Draft McLemore.

Possible they could make the playoffs. Most importantly bring back the Hornets, though.

You've just described the problem. The Bullshit Whisperer has proven time and time again he will report the first thing he hears, regardless of the accuracy. He can afford to do this because at the end of the day he's just a glorified blogger...he's not held to the same journalistic or reporting standards that someone would be if they worked for a newspaper or a national sports website like ESPN.

So yeah, he can be first to report some things, but I wouldn't say that makes him credible.

:dunno:

Yeah Chris Broussard has about the same level of journalistic integrity as Sam The Bullshit Whisperer. That is to say, little to none.

I hadn't thought of that. I wonder if Michael Jordan can talk Phil into coming there in a Pat Riley role to help fix that mess. The problem is Jordan is kind of a cheap owner. The Seattle situation seems more likely.

Huh?
