The Sonics have contacted 14-year veteran Dale Davis, who played last season with Indiana and Golden State. The 35-year-old forward is also drawing interest from Cleveland, Philadelphia, San Antonio, New Jersey and Indiana.

Add another to the interest list. Dale has a big strong body, and good size on him also. I wouldn't mind him coming in and banging a few dudes up for 15 minutes a night.

Davis is both Center and PF. Can spell Z, and provide physique when we play physical PF's. This would be a good signing, but don't know how priciey. We don't have a lot of wiggle room left if we sign sarunas...

Sounds good to me. We just need a viable backup center/power forward. Dale Davis, Cliff Robinson, Donyell Marshall. Just as long as they're cheap.

I assume Dale Davis would come fairly cheap. He's been in the league for 14 years. I assume we can use the vet minimum for his services. He doesn't have much NBA left in him. Sign him to a 1 year deal with the 2nd as the option and we have our back up center.

Others will be offering the minimum. Cleveland has to overpay for free agents, remember? Lucious Harris, even Hughes, Newble, Ollie, etc.

Here are his numbers:

He got a lot of play last season - even started a bunch of games...didn't realize that.

Yea, the suspensions + injuries to Foster, O'neal and sometimes Pollard forced Carlisle to start him some games.

Since we're interested in him, it's good to know that he can still take the rigorous 82-game schedule

It'll probably take some dough to sign him. I think we may have to dip into some of our free cash to sign him, doubtful another team wouldn't offer more then the minimum for a guy like dale davis.

Dale DAvis would be a good fit for the right price. He can rebound, play D, and get physical. I wouldnt want to give him too much more than the vet min. If hes asking for too much, theres still several other cheap backup big man options left on the market.

Depends again on the Sarunas situation I wish he would make up his mind so we could either sign him or move on and try to fill out our roster.

dale davis is an upgrade from tracor traylor if we land him. more athletic and moble, would be a great fit and provide veteran leadership to this young team..

dale is stale

we need a younger body that can do the same things.. dale would be okay, but it's not like he's putting up oakley like numbers at his age..

hell i would rather have kevin willis....

Kevin Willis has T Rex arms lmao, Right now I say we try to get Sarunas and then just pick up Olumide Oyedji off the summer squad he is kicking @$$ and taking names. I'd also like to see Gilchrist and Azubuike make it on too.

Dale Davis would be a fine upgrade for our bench. That is exactly what we need a player that can play PF and C. I'd be happy with this signing as long its cheap.

Yeah CavsDawgsTribe Olumide Oyedji is doing great in Summer league I was thinking the same thing the other day. I agree about Azubuike too, and one of the PGs not nessecarily Gilchrist. Though, I doubt we'll sign more then one player from the Summer League team.
