Cavs eye Dale Davis

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
well i'd prefer to sign all 3 and send Gilchrist down to nbdl and bring him up if we lose someone temporarily kinda like we did mateen cleaves, and bounce azubuike betweent the nbdl and the nba if we need to but keep oyedji up here and that will work for me...oh and freije for our nbdl team too since we have to share the nbdl team with another team.

Not a bad idea, I'd be all for it if we did that. Azubuike will turn into a good NBA player eventually, some time in the nbdl would be good for him.

The chances are slim that the Cavs are going to have 3 summer league players on their roster next season. Some of these guys might get invites to camp but in reality maybe 2 at most have a shot at making the final roster.

Dale Davis would be a great pickup and help. He's the kind of tough vet the Cavs could use. I think the odds of him coming to Cleveland are very slim though. He's going to have a ton of team interested in him and at this point in his career will go to a team that has a chance to contend next season. I also think Davis will stay in Indiana.

Dale Davis would be a very solid pick-up for the vet's minimum. He is a banger which is exactly what this team needs, even if he only gets the 10-15 minutes Tractor was getting.

As for some of the SL kids, I think John Gilchrist will be the only one to be on the Cavs active roster, but a few others will be invited to training camp just so our main guys can train against them.

I'm kinda concerned of how his body is, I never really followed him does he get injured much? Can he handle the daily grind of a game?

I don't think he's suffered many injuries (not that I recall anyway). He's at that point in his career where he can suffer little silly injuries, but he can handle the NBA for 10-15 minutes a game.

It'll probably take some dough to sign him. I think we may have to dip into some of our free cash to sign him, doubtful another team wouldn't offer more then the minimum for a guy like dale davis.

Yes it would be nice to have him, couldn't say no if it happened. But he is both old and probably too $$ because he is a former All Star.

I mentioned Dale Davis a couple of times over the past few weeks. Davis at this stage of his career is thinking contender rather then dollars. His value wont be overly high, so most will only offer a margin over the vets minimum. Dale would want a situation where he could contribute to a playoff team. he would get that here, so we'd likely be a chance. A team like Seattle though who have lost James, and also likely to lose Potapenko would be good fit for davis as well. They have drafted centers the last two drafts but both are not ready to start. Seattle will likely be Davis's best oppotunity, but the Cavs are not a bad second option.

The Big O is a reasonable choice for a 5th big man. We do though need a decent veteran center ahead of him.

I'd much rather have Dale Davis ahead of Oliver Miller. Atleast Dale can still play basketball.

If we can't land Dale, I wouldn't mind bringing Vitaly back, but I'd look at other options first.

The Big 0 is my new name for Oyedeji. I can certainly understand how that was misinterpreted. My bad. Guess I need a new name for possibly our new Cavalier.

All good mate. As I said to you on AIM, Oliver Miller is the only player in the NBA today I know of as Big O.

Well, even though many call Oliver Miller Big O, that nickname belongs to the great Oscar Robertson.

Big O and Mr. Triple Double are his nickames.

Oliver Miller and Tractor were twin sons of different mothers. Seriously though they both had game. Big presence inside, soft touch and excellent passers...
