Cavs @ Seattle 1/16/07

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean, this one sucks and all, but whatever. I don't have any unrealistic views that the Cavs are elite, they do this sometimes. They still have a long way to go.

Larry Hughes showed some ingorance with that reach in foul and also with that dumb 3-pt attempt

Forget it. This is the first really bad loss is a long while. We haven't really lost one we should have won in a while, so just let it go.

It doesn't make it any less aggravating though. I know we're not going to win them all but we are head and shoulders better than Seattle and they outhustled us and outrebounded us. I can live with a cold shooting night but poor effort drives me crazy.

And not going inside in the 2nd half is confusing when they were pounding the Sonics inside in the 1st half.

Its always hard to play on the west coast trip. We start off 2-2 which is not to shaby. We only won one game last year so we have to keep our heads up.

I agree but tomorrow night is now a much more important game and I was assuming that would be our low-effort night since it's the 2nd of a back-to-back. I'm just frustrated that I stayed up to watch this crap and I have an early meeting tomorrow at work. If I'm gonna be tired in the morning I want it to at least be because of a nice road win. Damnit Cavaliers.

C'mon Rim....we need the 1st seed and this was one we should have had. How many games can we say that about this year? A lot! Tomorrow is a back to back on the road...we needed this one. No reason to start hoisting form them perimeter. Mike Brown should have DEMANDED they continue to work it into Z or take it to the hole. He got too few looks in the second, we fell in love with the 3's...thats just lazy. This hurts. Home court may come down to ONE GAME...this is another one we may end up pointing to that costs us the home court. This will be tough to foreget.

One loss, long road trip, move on. But this was so winnable. Z, Gooden and LBJ could not be stopped inside. So they of course start shooting 3s. Even at the end MB drew up a play for a 3 by Marshall. Do you really have to draw a play for a 3 by a 6'9 PF? Hope they get back to what was working really well.

I really don't understand why we didn't give Z the ball in the post every single damn play down the stretch. He clearly was on today and was having his way.

This is exactly how I feel too Max. I'm sure people will be all over us tomorrow morning saying that it's only one game, settle down. But we can't give away games like this, we just can't. It bothers me when we just settle for outside shots. This is a continuing pattern in our losses.

...And Max.

Thirded.

I'm trying to make sense of this USA Today schedule thing, but one thing I've noticed is that Dallas takes care of business and we don't:

Dallas has played 17 games against under-Top 16 teams and lost one.

We’ve played 21 games against under-Top 16 teams and have lost six (including tonight’s Seattle game).

I don't think home or road matters as much because these are teams we should be beating either place. Dallas obviously does (their home v. road games is only +2 home).

Let me just say for the record that just because I'm frustrated with tonight's loss doesn't make me any less of a fan. I'm just not going to be all "rah-rah sunshiny, everything is OK" when we show a complete lack of effort and abondon a solid game plan against a weaker team.

I love this team but it frustrates me to no end when they hand over a game like this. LJ and JonFromVA - I'm complaining because I care :chuckles:

The home losses to bad teams are way way worse than this one. You lose in the road. It isn't shocking. Sure is frustating, but if I am going to get down on the Cavs, this isn't good place to start.

Anyway, we manage to make these games up, like beating the Spurs twice. We will win some games we aren't suppose to later, and this will just be a game that we played like morons. A blip on the radar. An fluke. An anomaly.

We all know exactly what happened here. If it continues, then there is something to it, but it isn't going to. They haven't chucked this bad for a long time and they won't for a long time now.

I hope you're right, but I've seen it too many times. We live and die by the three waaaaaaayyyyyy too often. Time will tell bro.
