Cavs Trade Deadline (discussion)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Cavs trading into the lottery??? (The Bullshit Whisperer)

I'm calling new jersey to clear even more cap space for the summer if they believe the magic will not trade Howard in the next couple days.

Re: Cavs trading into the lottery??? (The Bullshit Whisperer)

Please let this happen. I just failed my bio exam and could use a bit of a pick me up.

New jersey to possibly clear more cap space for the summer.

They don't have any bad contracts on the books for next year. The biggest one is 4 Mil for Anthony Morrow. Certainly not bad enough to give up a lottery pick.

No shot. Guys like Petro and Morrow don't have bad enough contracts to give up a lottery pick with. They have done a good job of preparing for Howard's free agency already.

Re: 2012 Draft

If we get 2 lottery picks this draft, well then, this will be one of the best rebuilding efforts I have ever seen.

Re: Cavs trading into the lottery??? (The Bullshit Whisperer)

Gotta love Dan Gilbert...

lol a team isn't going to send a lottery pick to free up $4M or less in cap space when they can already afford the player they covet.

if they were trying to free up even more cap space, with a contract that small it'd be just as easy to do it by offering some team $3M and a future heavily protected 1st.

Re: 2012 Draft

That has been my guess for awhile. Minn wont dip too much because, but is still looking like a 12-14 pick. We would save a NOH alot of money if we gave them Jamisons expiring.

Washington, Detroit and Milwaukee are the first 3 teams I think of with Blatche/Lewis, Gordon/Prince/Villanueva and Bogut/Gooden/S-Jax

These two tweets just came across;

consensus seems to be the Wizards would have to be the team to give a lotto pick. Cavs would have to take a knucklehead or two. And Lewis.

Ben Cox ‏ @BenCox83
that's a guess BTW. Wizards have dumb guys, bad contracts and they suck.

Re: Cavs trading into the lottery??? (The Bullshit Whisperer)

Jamison for Farmar/Morrow/Okur/1st then flip Sessions for another 1st. Cavs could get draft picks and 2 guys not on terrible contracts and a new backup PG who has won it all and the Nets get cap relief for the summer.

I would agree with you but the Nets have been shopping Morrow/Farmar for awhile. It would only be a little over in 8 million between the two of them off the books for next year but any bit of relief will help them. 8 million is enough for a sidekick to Howard/DWill

washington doesn't make sense either. they don't need to salary dump lewis because as i've said a bunch, given the high salary floor most of these teams potentially dumping "bad contracts" will simply be diverting the cash elsewhere while giving up an incredibly valuable pick.

the wiz do have lots of dumb guys (i'd go so far as to say team cancers but i digress....) but with the team being so bad there's no way you can give up a lottery pick projected to be so high just to dump them
