Not entirely true. As long as he's a plus defender, rebounds, and spaces the floor we'll be fine. If he posts up effectively on top of that, then GSW is toast.

The margin for error on our side cannot account for all that. For example, his touches are usually in the post and then he moves to the 3 as the game goes on. If he can't get in rhythm there then he'll likely not be on point at the three. It's also not fair to expect him to be a plus defender for the a majority of the series.

I really wish we had more reps against GSW. Maybe ownership needs to look into those VR machines.

It is critical that if they put Coward on Love in the post that Love draws fouls. I don't even care if he misses both free throws. You must punish them for putting Coward on Love in the post with quick fouls. If Love can't draw those fouls then his importance in the series is greatly diminished.

I'd rather just put LeBron in the post. Love isn't going to get enough calls against Durant to get him in foul trouble.

I didn't watch the game

Anyone know how many postups the king had that night

Not many that I recall, but he has routinely dominated KD in the post in the past, no reason for me to think he wouldn't bully him to the hoop still.

At this point, I don't think the Cavs are ready to challenge the Warriors in a 7 game series (IMO).

We currently have a rusty sword (one that's still capable of beating down 5/6 of the league's teams). Need a couple months to sharpen it up further.

But that's why it's important to play out the regular season. Once we finish making roster moves (and replenish our depleted depth), I think it goes a long way to the endgame.

Make no mistake, we will be underdogs coming into any games or more importantly any series against this team. Simply because on paper, they are a better team. Just like they were last year.

Yup. We were underdogs at the Q (+2) on Christmas even though it was the end of a road trip for GS. Last year, the oddsmakers gave the Warriors a better chance of sweeping the scabs than the Cavs winning the series or even taking it to seven games.

They're going to wind up with the highest SRS, margin of victory, NET rating, etc., etc. ever. Objectively speaking, it's the best team ever assembled and it takes real effort just to simply not be blown out by them. Watching some of their games, it's honestly disheartening to see that they're trying at like 50% in most games and still blowing teams out like it's nothing.

It will be really, really, really difficult to pull off another series win. Last year, James played 2 of the 3 or 4 greatest games in Finals history and overall played like a +15 or +16 player, i.e., equivalent to the greatest player ever playing at his absolute peak and then some. Kyrie played his best 3 games to finish the series. Now they have a matchup nightmare in Durant whom we can't stick LeBron and expect LeBron to do his usual things.

Makes me appreciate what this team did last year as it went against every projection by any system of analytics. To do it twice back-to-back? I don't know, man.

It can happen and remember the key pieces that left other than a Mo and D Jones game changing play we are running out the same team because Delly and Moz were useless and so was Frye. With Kover and up coming trades we can be back and beat them. I will give you this. Durant and the team connecting will be hard to keep up with and no defense should be blamed if they can not. Those nights will happen, however in a series it gives teams way more options to figure that out and take Away Bogut aka Illegal screen master you saw what happened to them.

I in no way think we are favorites to win but I will not be shocked if we pull a back to back as in NBA history we are kind of favored to do so. I know we never really know but id Korver and our soon to be new player(s) can get it all together. Play offs are a different animal we all know that. So is LeBron, play off LeBron is a man who seen his wife get kidnapped by the other team. With LeBron on your team anything is possible. Plus Durant is still a big time choke artist until he proves otherwise.

I'm speaking on his offense aggressiveness in the paint.

GS couldn't stop it.

I think LeBron should be the one doing the attacking or posting up in the playoffs, Love should stand in the corner and stretch the floor and be ready to shoot if they help off him, IMO that's the best way to use him against the Warriors, more of a floor spacer and rebounder.

Also in the playoffs he needs to set better screens not soft slip screens, it will help our offense a lot.
