It will never happen but I would keep Cedi in the starting line up until Love returns. At least there wouldn't be a disruption in two rotations or hurt feelings that Hood got bumped. Cedi would gain valuable experience learning on the job.
I'm leaning toward this. I thought he struggled against OKC, was a bit exposed- although it was by PG, who is obviously elite.
They didn't help him much with the screening and Adams blew him up a few times. OKC also allowed him to take his jumper, so teams are already saying "let him beat you".
This was a measuring stick game for him- RIGHT NOW he's not prepared to play against a Golden State in the playoffs. Obviously not many players in the NBA are though.
I would definitely keep him in the starting lineup until Love gets back, and definitely get minutes with the second unit.
The other wildcard is JR, who has been lights out recently. A lights out JR definitely deserves the minute over Cedi, and I want to see a lot more of Hood.
Yes. There is no way East has 10 better rookies than Cedi. But this is on Lue, this f****** moron is blind and Cedi should play much earlier. It's too bad Cedi on the rising stars... really wanted to watch him play without any restrictions and pressure and watch what he can really do.
Would have been great for his confidence too.

No.Cavs hid him until it was too late. I would love to see him be more aggressive rebound the ball and then attack the hoop. That would be a good display for him.
Just looked at the 2015 draft. Did we get Cedi for Wiggins from Minnesota? That rules
No.
We traded Tyus Jones to Minnesota on draft night for Rakeem Christmas and Cedi Osman.

I just checked the 2015 Draft again and wow that was a pretty strong draft class. Was curious to look at which place i would have drafted Cedi with the current situation.
1. Towns
2. Booker
3. Porzingis
4. Turner
5. Russel
6. Rozier
7. Portis
8. Cauley-Stein
9. Osman
10. Nance Jr.
Too high or accurate?
Cedi Osman just moved up to 35th ranked SF according to RPM... he is trending upwards pretty fast.
Here are his Defensive Synergy stats so far... I'm only positive defensive ones as offensively he is mostly relegated to Spot ups and Transition points he is in the 75 Percentile and 78 Percentile respectively... the number of possessions on offense still make it unreliable.
Still kind small sample size, but I think his potential as a PnR Ball Handler defender is what's going to make him valuable.
Legend:
aFG% - Using the AFG% in basketball accounts for the added point the three point basket provides
%FT-The percentage of the possessions the player is awarded free throws
%SF-is the percentage of player's possessions the player is fouled in the act of shooting
%Score-is the percentage of player's possessions the player scored at least 1 point
%TO-percentage of player's possessions that result in a Turnover.
FGm-missed free throws
FGM-made free throws
Defending Spot ups
for some reason he is poor defending when a player takes a dribble and excellent when he does not.
Defending the P&R Ball Handler
This is his bread and butter, he a his best when the attacker doesn't take it to the rack but settles for a jump shot after getting an on-ball screen... like we saw in his matchup against Kyrie.

Awesome stuff - great find.

In his matchup against PG13, at first he tried to go under picks(it was off-screens but it's still similar in a way), he had much less success than when he went into picks like we saw in the 2nd half. He is still at better going under picks when the ball handler asks for a pick(when he guards PGs for example) then when he has to guard players that use a lot of screens off the ball like PG13 and Korver even, so in that case we should just use his versatility and switch.
