The view of Cedi as more of a joke meme than an actual talented player needs to stop. He showed too many flashes last year for this disrespect to continue. If he was on any other team other than the Cav's (especially with Lebron around) he would be much more highly regarded. For some reason he got pulled into the whole Lebron's teammates are jokes narrative.

If he was on the Knicks they would be calling him "The Great and Powerful Os"

Im actually very excited to see cedi this year. The narrative is that he's been held out the past few games and noone really knows why. Rest? Seen enough? Injury prevention? Just getting antsy because imo, he's going to be one of our top players outside of love

I've even met Cavs "fans" who were surprised to learn that Cedi and Zizic were actually drafted and not just random UFA Euro guys who stumbled across the pond :chuckle:

Actually, the problem last year was that Cedi’s teammates were a joke.

The problem was Lue.

If regular season meant nothing why in God's name did Cedi ride the pine all year.

I am seriously seriously worried that Ty has no idea how to develop young players. Praying guys like Korver and Frye take these guys under their wings, because this entire coaching staff is a joke.

During the broadcast @ LAL game, he was talking about playing the young players, but he didn't mention Cedi or Z. He mentioned the players that we got in the trades...Hood, Clarkson and Nance.

Also, it's very strange to me how the media keeps telling us fans that he doesn't get enough credit. That's like the most absurd thing I have ever heard...but they want us to believe this with all their heart. Lue really seemed pumped when they mentioned it.

I just hope that the coaching staff has great plans for both Cedi and Z... If they are going to waste precious time with Hood and Clarkson over Cedi, and TT over Zizic(which means the rotation is going to be Nance-TT with Z riding the pine, or Nance instead plays the 4 off the bench with Z at the 5), then i'm going to be pissed as hell.

It really bothers me that he never mentions Zizic, and only rarely mentions Cedi. It's like he still thinks Hood and Clarkson are better than Cedi and Zizic is some nonathletic european scrub.

I'm not worried about Sexton. They will do what it takes to get him meaningful playing time and responsibility. It's clear Lue is very high on the kid.

My guess is they saw enough out of Cedi in his two games to shut him down. No need to run him unnecessarily. He also played those games over in Europe this summer.
He’s ready to go. Probably same reason they let Zizic go to watch soccer. Dominating summer league isn’t needed for these guys. They’re beyond it.

Are they? then why didn't they play in the regular season? suddenly, two games in and they are beyond SL?

You have 2nd year lottery picks playing tons of minutes and games. You see Hart playing 36 minutes every game...

Unless the Cavs knew that they were both very good last season and still decided to not play them. 2 games sample size for both of them is nothing. Let them play and prove their worth to the NBA.

I understand where you're coming from, but I think you're jumping too far with your conclusions here.

I think we'll all save ourselves some headaches if we give Lue a tiny bit of rope to work with. If he hangs himself, then so be it. But given the difficulty of coaching a LeBron team, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

So far, I've seen nothing but positives from how we've managed the summer league. I'm glad we didn't over play Cedi and Zizic against inferior competition. What LA did with Hart was embarrassing. Honestly. I didn't feel bad about losing to them at all. In fact, I'm glad we got out of SL with no injuries, and we learned a lot about all of the players we brought to SL.

I have zero negative feelings about the team right now, and I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for a little while.

I'm not yet drawing conclusions. I'm just saying what I hear during the broadcast and what I heard during the RS.

Saying that he has a bias against european players is drawing a conclusion...i'm not there yet.

Like you, I'm feeling positive about the team...but that doesn't mean I feel positively about Lue. I think he is an hindrance. That doesn't mean i'm feeling negative about the team as a whole though. So like I said, let's see how it goes.

As far as playing Cedi and Zizic, meh. It's okay,, we are done with that right now. I just want to hear the coach say a positive word or two in regards to Zizic, and mention Cedi a bit more. He never seems to do it, instead, he mentions players that sucked badly as his future cornerstones and one of them proved to be a cancer. He should mention the hard workers and players that showed up big in SL during the broadcast other than Sexton.

I've watched all of his interviews during SL and every SL game, and I never get this impression.

Lue just answers the questions he's asked with as little information as possible, it seems. I don't think he has a bias against Euro players.

All that I'm saying is that you can't make any conclusions about what Lue will do next year based on how he's coached LeBron teams.

I think there's a chance that we see a very different Lue this year now that he doesn't have to manage a LeBron system.

Now we get to see a Lue system, which could be very different (better?). Or, maybe it won't be. I don't know. But I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt because I'm sick of the negativity.

Would it kill you to do the same?

I'm not giving Lue the benefit of the doubt. I'm giving the team and the players the benefit of the doubt. I have seen enough of him as a coach...a good coach is a good coach and a bad coach is a bad coach whether he is on a contender or on a rebuild team.

I'm not negative at all...I'm extremely positive about the team. That doesn't mean i'm going to all of a sudden like Lue and excuse him of the blame that he for some reason does not receive.

I do hope that I will not mention him much at all during the season. If that helps you...

Fair enough. Agree to disagree. :)
