America owes it to him. This should be its way of settling up.

@Huber.

Shoot I am part Irish so I should sue Notre Dame for being the Fighting Irish since that is an insult to my heritage...

No offense to anyone who is Native American, but when I think of them, I see warriors and the name Indians to me also associates with the warrior tribes. I see warriors who knew the land and respected the land.

Man, i really dont like progressives and sjws, but i cannot understand how this isnt racist.

..and i know that polls about yhe redskin franchise state only 10% native americans gave a fuck, so im even more radical than the people affected, but i just cannot see how this isnt racist.

I hate the concept of white guilt, but man does this make a case for it i guess

Go plant a tree about it

My buddy and I were having this discussion the other day. I like Wahoo, but if we got rid of him I'd understand. If anything I want them to move on from him so I can finally stop hearing about it.

But I've seen a lot of people say that if the team simply adopted a more respectful image of a Native that it would be okay. I've even seen many point to the Chicago Blackhawks logo as an example of a respectful Native image. So my question is, what about Wahoo makes him so much more offensive? The bright red skin is an obvious start. So, would that make the Indians logo from the 70's acceptable since he has white skin? Or is this logo below still offensive?

Edit: not being a smartass here. Legitimately want to know what people think about this logo compared to the bright red Wahoo we see on the hats.

The red face is a small part of what makes it offensive. The exaggerated features combined with the red face are what have it being compared to black sambo.

At least chief has very nice white teeth. Must have seen a lot of trips to the dentist and he didn't have to steal money !!

Essentially if we keep Chief Wahoo, we need to design a less offensive logo, but how do you do that? How do we make a logo that is still fun but not offensive to the Native Americans? I mean it is the 21st century anything and everything is made fun of, but we still gotta try and be more politically correct

But if you take away the red face like in the 70's logo, is he still a stereotype of Natives? Or is he just a goofy colorless cartoon?

Again, not trying to be a smartass here. But if the Indians adopted something similar to the Blackhawks logo and made the face bright red, would that pass?
