You are disappointed that it was made political so you made it political? It's really disappointing that some people feel the need to make everything a political discussion. It's a racist caricature, and nobody has any good argument for keeping it outside of "I like the logo."

I give it 89 out of 100 Obama's
Calling it racist makes it political.Where did I say anything political? Nothing I said has anything to do with the bipartisan bullshit that gets spewed all over this site.
Calling it racist makes it political.
You mean aknwoledging a consistent pattern of political behavior in a case where we're attempting to "abolish racism" and are voting on whether or not a franchise should be forced to change their logo based on a collective of peoples ethnicity is political?Calling it racist makes it political.
I think without understanding the science behind what you're talking about, you dont really understand the issue, do you.I honestly feel bad for people who think every question about whether something should or shouldn't be has to be political in nature
Hypothetical question: if the team was to trade team names with another franchise, with Trevor Bauer as the throw in, what teams make sense? I could see someone like the Marlins owner being game for this. Maybe the As owner. Or maybe a swap with a minor league team? Cleveland Clippers? Cleveland Bulls? Cleveland Rubber Ducks?
Anytime anyone throws out a name it's awful. IMO. The industrial revolution built Cleveland just as fast as it broke it down and turned it into the armpit of America. Might as well call it the corrupt politicians.Yo I would fuckin' love to take the A's identity off their hands. They have some of the most beautiful jerseys in all of sports. It's kinda sad that soon they'll be the last vestige of competition left in Oakland.
I know that for some people, there will never be a name suitable to replace Indians. For me, I've had a tough time hopping on board with most ideas even though I'm in favor of changing the name.
One that might work is Industrials. Bit long but we wouldn't need to change colors or even lose the script with the iconic "I," which I personally love. It's a name that isn't too hokey but also represents the roots of the city, paying homage to our blue collar attitude. The logo could include imagery of smokestacks or gears or maybe some fire (just not men in hardhats like the old Crew logo). It's not perfect, but it feels like a better identity than Spiders IMO, which is only really an option based on historical context.
