Idk man we took their land, took advantage of trust and lied our way into almost extermination after gaining confidence, only to incorrectly label them as Indians and put them on baseball uniforms.

I don't think we "incorrectly labeled them as Indians"...all "Indians" is is a name for indigenous people, which they clearly were. Like saying Aborigines in Australia are incorrectly labeled...of course, there is no "Sydney Aborigines" sports team out there...

One is a nationality, the other is a race.

People just got tired of calling them "Indigenous peoples" and started calling them Indians...all "Indians" or "Native Americans" means, for the US's sake, is that they originated from the Americas...

They're near the bottom for attendance, but near the top for TV ratings...the problem is getting people to the park. I don't think a change in the name, colors, etc. is going to change that...

I don't give a shit about tv ratings. Wrestling gets high ratings.

People needs to be at the park representing their 1st place team like every other 1st place team. It's a very dark cloud on this city when it comes to baseball. Outsiders love talking shit about this 28th/29th ranked fan base.

Does people hate Dolan that much that 10s of thousands refuse to come? If Doan sells to Dan Gilbert does that bring 30k to a game on average?

Exactly...but again, you seem to think changing the team name and team colors is going to result in that...

Also, when you say "this fan base is last in the league", that's pure bullshit based on nothing but your opinion (which I somewhat agree with...we need to support this team more and quit making dumb excuses)...that's why I brought up TV ratings. The interest is there, the required amount of people who need to be interested in order to draw people to the park is there...but we need to find a way to get people to the park.

Changing a team name or colors won't bring back downtown's lost population, won't erase the last 10 years of our teams fairly uneventful history, won't undo the Dolan's burning bridges with some fans, won't destroy advances in watching sports from home, etc...

There's one thing that cures this problem in the short term...winning...not changing a team name, or colors, or a mascot, or giveaways, or dollar dog nights, or the District, or anything like that...
