Chiefs dilemma

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yea, but we are so much worse than you right now and that is really saying something. No offense.

No one should take any - as Cleveland fans we are well aware of the abysmal failure that has been this franchise since its return. :chuckles:

Chiefs haven't done anything since the year the NFL got started, so I know how you feel.

I am unfortunately a KC fan as well. I was initially a little put off by the Reid hiring, but in a weak coaching FA class he is most likely the best hire.

As far as the #1 pick conundrum, you have to believe that the Chiefs would be best off trading back or taking the BPA #1 and then trading back into the late 1st round to take one of the QB's in the Geno/Wilson/Barkley bunch. For all of the mocks that have the Chiefs taking one of those QB's #1 overall, I could just as easily see that player sliding to the mid-to-late first round. Who else is really looking to draft a QB in the first round this year?

I keep hoping that someone shows up to the combine and wows everyone with their speed and arm strength and becomes the next great rookie QB. More realistically, however, KC needs to be eyeing the QB market as strongly as possible while finding out which potential rookie suits them best.

It is unfortunate that this #1 pick came a draft too late, but if the Chiefs can find a solid, young QB to get behind then this team could take off in a hurry. There's a lot of good, young talent on the defensive end and we could see a guy like Jon Baldwin become a big time threat with a decent QB and no D-Bo.

Doing some research on WR, assuming we want to pair Geno or whatever new QB with one (and really hoping Bowe stays), Justin Hunter looks like a BEAST, but unrealistic to get since he is projected to go 11th.

Terrance Williams is projected to go late 1st, so he could drop to early 2nd. Watching those videos, he never had that many YAC usually, but he made some really tough catches.

Robert Woods doesn't look bad. He looks like a playmaker that can make things happen after he has the ball. He is a little too small for my taste, but small WR have been proven to be successful in the league I guess. And he isn't THAT small, just 6'1. I prefer more 6'3-6'6 but if you can play you can play.

And speaking of small WR, Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey from West Virginia could be options since they already have chemistry with Geno and they are projected to both go in early-mid second round. They are 5'9 and 5'10. All I can say is that they better be lightning quick.

Sounds like wishful thinking, but I certainly understand the fear. I'd be willing to bet KC goes QB at #1 and I'll use the 2011 Draft as the example.
1-Newton
8-Locker
10-Gabbert
12-Ponder
... plus Dalton and Kaepernick went early 2nd back to back.

QB's go waaaay too high nowadays, and as you are painfully aware I'm sure, KC is dying for one. Trading down is really difficult, so if they have a guy they like, they're going to take him. My money's on Barkley to KC at #1 by Draft time.

And you asked who else needs a legit starting QB? - KC, Oak, NYJ, Jax, Philly, Ariz, Buf... and those are just the no doubters.

Fuck a Chiefs thread in the Browns section. The fuck is wrong with you guys.

Chiefs, Jags, Raiders all screw up and take QBs, Browns get a better defensive player at 6. All ties together.

Oh, it's absolutely wishful thinking. Fans would panic and/or riot if the first player the Chiefs selected was not a QB. The number one pick has been a QB in four straight drafts and I don't see that trend ending any time too soon.

As far as the question, I asked "who else is looking to draft a QB in the first round this year?" There's no denying that the teams you listed need a legitimate QB, yet many of them won't go fishing for one in the first round. Oakland has claimed that Palmer is their franchise QB despite his age (i.e. they'll look for someone to drop into the 2nd/3rd round), Jacksonville won't take another 1st round QB so close to the Gabbert draft, etc. If I had to guess I'd say that we see only 2-3 QB's drafted in the first round this year, and even that is too many considering the class.

Well there isn't an NFL thread in general. Actually I think it is supposed to be this section so f you. Anyway, I wanted to hear opinions since Browns fans can relate. And there is actually more Chiefs fans on this board than I thought. There is like 4 or 5. Its crazy. About half of the actual fanbase.

No Justin hunter or Sammy Watkins love jk?

I said I loved Justin Hunter. I just didn't think it was realistic since he is projected to go 11th. Sammy Watkins and Deandre Hopkins aren't on the mock drafts so have they not declared?

I must admit I was rude and only checked out the videos neglecting your text. I'm really sorry.

I personally think Watkins is a lock but they've not officially declared.

Had to condense your post. IMO
1. Hunter has the highest ceiling and lowest floor. Really took a step back this year. 1st/2nd rounder now. Once combine comes I'm sure he will improve it.
2. Williams is going to be nice. i like DeAndre and hunter better.
3. Love Austin. Reminds me of Harvin.
4. Woods scares the shit out if me.
