Cleveland Browns 2017 Training Camp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Selfishly, i'd prefer us to have a bottom five year because this team is going to look completely different after next year's draft. While going 6-10 is good for team morale and hopeful for next year, it doesn't help us in the draft. Luckily we do have the picks to move up regardless.

I think our D is just a few additions away from being elite, assuming none of our rookies have any injury issues. If Kizer proves to be the guy this year, I hope we would be looking to target the top CB coming out. I also want to target one of the top DT's as well. We need to put someone next to Garrett that needs to be accounted for every down.

Pray we got it right this year in the draft. I am cautiously optimistic about it. If we hit on this year's and next year's, watch out. I've dreamt about watching the Browns make a playoff run for too long. I am not sure how much more losing i can take.

As the week has gone by a co worker has gradually convinced himself this team could go 8-8. I told him expect and hope for 3-6 wins and reminded him the team still has a ton of holes. Worst out come of this season is we find out kizer is crap but defense is good enough the browns find a way to win 6 games.
Ideal season find out kizer is the starter moving forwar and they win 4-5 games.
And the Texans go 0-16 :celb (2):

There's no reason to be rooting for this team to tank anymore. It appears the FO may be able to hit on their picks from anywhere in the draft.

If you can hit on your picks, you don't need to be in the top 5.

I'd much rather them go 10-6 than have another top 5 pick.

Kizer doesn't have much to throw to and he may start slow, so I think the offense isn't going to be very good...but I think it's possible the Browns aren't as bad as people are predicting for once.

I'll put my under at 5 wins, my over at 7 wins. And for my expectations that would put us on the right track.

What I will say, the Browns are going to catch the Ravens and Colts at the perfect time if Luck and Flacco are out. No chance in hell either of those backup QBs are going to beat us. Tolzen and Mallett are fucking terrible.

Right now Vegas has the following over/under on the season:

Bills - 6.5 wins
Jags - 6.5 wins
Bears - 5.5 wins
Rams - 5.5 wins
Niners - 5 wins
Browns - 4.5 wins
Jets - 4 wins
I believe the Browns have more talent on this team than anyone else on that list. We just happen to play in one of the toughest divisinos in football which blows.

Nah dude, fuck that mentality. I want to see this team start winning games to keep this regime in place. I don't want a 2-4 win season and Jimmy getting the itch to blow it up again. Winning franchises like the Pats, Steelers, Ravens, etc. draft outside the top 10 every year and still find Pro Bowl players.

Yeah. Provided Kizer looks like the man, I don't care to tank for a higher pick. If the QB problem is solved, we can get elite prospects at other positions anywhere in the 1st round.

With that said, I'd still be surprised if this team won 6 games. That's my absolute ceiling for this team this season.

Exactly, and this is the NFL, so the Browns record will basically be tied to how good or bad Kizer is. If he looks to be the answer, there's no reason to worry about tanking because we have our franchise QB. If he sucks and doesn't look like "the guy", well chances are this team is picking top 5 regardless. Best case scenario for me is a) Kizer be the franchise and b) this team wins some games.

I think with the coaching staff it looks like they have a "direction" to go with this team versus year's past.

I've seen that happen only once in a while. It could be argued that Butch Davis "had" a good direction he was going with this team from 2001-2003, but didn't have a quality front office to get him good players. Foge Fazio and Bruce Arians were also great coordinators that I think were the reason for our team to even make the playoffs.

I saw "promise" from Mangini, but I always felt he suffered from similar problems. No front office, and no good offensive coordinators.

The general advice right now for this team is to let these guys go and not to meddle too much with what they're doing. I could SEE what Hue was trying to do. I could see that he was trying to run some form of a modern NFL offense. But that's awfully hard to do with the amount of holes this team had.

They're going to have to be patient. Same with the idiot media in this town that seems to run people out of town on a whim.

That's really the only reason I'd want a top 5 pick again.

I don't know...If Kizer completely falls apart..shows no promise and you're there to take someone like Lamar Jackson? Then yeah. By all means, do it.

I'd prefer wins though, and I'd prefer Kizer be the solution.

I want to get to the point in this franchise where we're pretty much taking tackles and guards to add depth to the offensive line. That's where I want to be.

I'm not convinced that Lamar Jackson is going to stay at QB at the next level.

He doesn't have it between the ears, and that coaching staff does him no favors in preparing him.

100% correct.

You have to start a winning mentality. 1-15 is deflating.

If we can sneak out 5-6 wins, the confidence level will build, and the young guys will start to come together as a team.

Culture cant be turned on in one offseason, especially in the NFL and we need a winning culture.

Every year with this.... guys we are going 5-11 and picking 5th.
