Cleveland Browns 2018 Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Everyone panicking on Landry is ridiculous.

He’s a damn good receiver. It’s rough when the other two receivers are Callaway and Ratley.
Exactly! Very very few can be a wr1 without an NFL starting caliber wr2. The most recent that comes to mind is Megatron.

Even Antonio brown with his outstanding diikl set has had at least a wr2 capable of starting on other teams.

I don't know about anyone else, but once Baker hurt his plant foot on the 1st down marker, he was wasn't the same.

And, yet again, the refs allowed false starts early in the game for the Chargers. Everyone is so worried about roughing the passer, d-lineman don't know when to keep their rush or not. Garrett should have actually rushed, play to the whistle.

Our rookies looked like rookies yesterday. Our offense is in trouble until we get the WR position figured out. And Gregg, on behalf of all Browns fans, please stop playing zone.....were not very good at it

And.........the next few weeks, I'm actually worried. 1st time this season that I saw the team was legitimately crushed.

I'm not too worried about the young guys, they are typically up and down in an NFL season.

What I am worried about is our schemes. Williams scheme is easily defeated by side to side movement and screens. Haley's beginning of the game script is some of the worst work I have ever seen. It's bad and I'm not sure what they are trying to do.

Truthfully, what the hell does Hue Jackson do? He clearly has no input on offense, the defense is clearly all Williams, and I think Hue is too gun shy to step in and give any thoughts. Even when he says he is going to get involved in a unit, the unit doesnt improve. What are we paying him for? Emotional support?

Did anyone else see Jarvis's targets yesterday? A couple were botched. More than a few were not even close to catchable.

It’s still one experience and my other question is do you have kid(s)?

No kids.

However I had children sitting around me and a family right next to me I was talking to the whole game. No one was rude around me. Everyone was friendly and we were just there to have fun and root on the Browns.

Sure there was swearing going on around but didn’t take any notice to it.

Think the enviorment is just fine but obviously you can be unlucky and run across the 5% of the stadium that’s a complete drunken asshole.

Just don’t think that’s the case everywhere in the stadium.

The Browns all around gameday experience pales in comparison to the Indians and Cavs. Think it's a combination of the fans- it always seems like the majority of fans there are strictly Browns fans, not Cleveland fans, and they're a different breed- along with the on-field product in the last 20 years. I think the only win I've been to was late in December '09 when Jerome Harrison was on his tear. As far as the fans go, I think this is pretty common among other NFL stadiums and not really unique to Browns fans.

I have season tickets to the Cavs and Indians, really don't think I'd get tickets to the Browns even if they were a perennial 10 win team. Just enjoy the setup of Browns + RedZone, great food, and not being surrounded by blacked out assholes. Think this might just be a football thing for me; I'm an OSU grad and big fan but not really itching to get back in The Shoe to catch a game.

Landry is a great WR2 if a team has a legit WR1 that can spread the field. Health and willing to be here Gordon was perfect. This pushes Higgins and Callaway to WR3 and WR4. Landry thrives on short completions in space and he's great at YAC. Our coaching staff just seems too stupid to understand this. I watch other teams build around their best players strengths and i'm just dumbfounded as to what we're even trying to do. Duke needs 10-12 touches per game, if that means lining him up in the slot at times then fricken do it.

As for our scheme, I think Gregg has move us to more of a 4-3 than the hybrid system he used last year. I say go resign Meder and hope that we can go back to playing alittle more 3-4.

We can play Avery or Pepper more with our 3 starting linebackers to shore up our run defense especially when they stretch the field horizontally, that automatically adds speed into the front 7. We need a big nose tackle to take on blocks in the middle to free up linebackers.

Having big nose tackles last year allowed us to be more versatility and throw more looks at teams.

This all is too logical, it won’t happen. Much like duke and Chubb getting more snaps or running 2 TE sets.

True. Also ego would come into play, Dorsey and Gregg will have to admit they screwed up with the roster/scheme changes.

Kirksy and Ogunjobi gave up too.

Kirksy has been generally horrendous this year.

After 6 games of tape, we damn sure better be taking a LB fairly high in the draft.

PFF ranks him 71/81 of the qualified LB's who are graded in their system this season and he has a horrendous 43.7 Run Def Rating.

He trended downward last year and has just fell off a cliff this. Schobert has been keeping people off the Kirksey stink this year.....I'd imagine it will be really bad with Joe likely slated to miss time.
