I'm hoping that's the plan but I think we need guys to step up to fill Avery's role as an edge rusher before we can afford to cut Collins role. With Schobert possibly out, we will need Collins since Burgess is such a step down from the rest of the linebackers. Avery and Pepper will have to play more of a linebacker role if Schobert is out.

This is why I want Hassan Reddick. I think he would be a good fit and a worthwhile investment in the Collins role.

Basically get him for 1.5 seasons at roughly $14 mil total. Not terrible if he can stay healthy.

He's on a dirt cheap 4th year (around 500k left) and then he's owed a fifth year option in the $13.5 range.

We have a ton of cap space and Cooper strikes me as a better option than what is likely to be left on the FA market. He's also still only 24 years old.....which puts him in the right talent / age mix to grow with Baker.

I'm sure we'll do nothing but it is rare that a receiver that young, with tape of productive years, would hit the market. Some risk obviously, given his recent injury history but I'd be willing to roll the dice.

Great leader but pretty much had his career ended with a nasty injury a few years back. Still not ancient age wise but don’t think he’s got much in the tank
