Cleveland Browns 2018 Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I saw him in his black Chevy SUV (either a Tahoe or Suburban) and his was chewing a big ass piece of gum. He let me go in front of him at a stop sign. I told my brother and we were both shocked that he was all the way over there less than 20 minutes after the game ended. I don't know why but I don't expect to see the GM high tailing it out of the stadium that fast after a game. There were still doing the post game press conferences live because I was listening to them in the car.

Game was over, what’s a GM supposed to do. Sit in his office and review tape, go yell at the shitty coaching staff he’s going to fire, yell at the players??? Not sure why this is a big deal... please explain to me why he should be there...

Well he was definitely there longer after The Ravens game. Also the whole team left the arena rather quickly. Put it this way, John Dorsey had to have left that game early. If a player would've walked off the field before the game ended, went to the locker room, got dressed and didn't address the media he would be getting killed for it.

I'm saying all people have been talking about is the vibe around the team today and yesterday. Apparently it extended beyond just the players.

The Browns are gonna hire Mike McCarthy if Green Bay fires him aren't they? Should I just start talking myself into him right now?

Dimitri Flowers would be a huge upgrade to Orsen Charles, IMO.

Yep. This checks out.

I mean that OU gig is pretty sweet.

They STILL run old reruns of COACHES shows on Fox Sports out here. Bud Wilkinson, Barry Switzer and Bob Stoops out here.

Kinda why I hold my doubts as to why he'd run off over here.

True. He would only leave if he really desires to coach in the NFL.

Objectively speaking, the Browns gig is a good one for a coach making the transition to the NFL. Good young talent, the frame of a great team in place with a lot of cap space and probably a top-ten pick in 2019 (Thanks, Hue!). That is a saturation of talent and ability to make adjustments by adding even more top talent that few teams can offer. Also, Dorsey is a well respected partner to work with.

Above all that is a chance to be with his boy and possibly build something legendary over the next decade and a half. It is almost a tailor-made situation for him if there ever was one.

If Haslam offered to make Riley the highest paid coach in the league I tend to think he'd think real hard about it.

GM is neither player nor coach though. He is expected to be in the background. While everyone else job revolves around getting ready for Sunday and then Sunday itsself his job is to get the pieces together as well as ensuring contracts and deals are squared away, hardly a necessity at the field. For all we know he could be conducting meetings with the agents and players we are bringing in for workouts.

Long story short his job is not on the field on Sunday.

Plus, he probably parks inside of the stadium or directly outside somewhere. Very possible he left right after the game and made it to E55 in 20 minutes.
