Cleveland Browns 2018 Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't think anyone is saying we are going 2-13-1 because of how we played this game. But we have every right to be a bit irritated and criticize some things.

I think it is very difficult to say the Browns put together a good game of football. The defense stepped up and made plays, but the offense left much to be desired. They were sloppy at times and committed some costly penalties. That isn't a good game.

Just because we are pointing out they played bad Sunday, that doesn't mean we are saying the sky is falling.

I can understand the criticism to an extent.

But it went way past constructive, and got to the point of just bashing coaches for actually everything.

Anyways. Looking forward to the progress from this game into the Dome in New Orleans. I expect us to play a lot better and think our playmakers are just flat out better suited for turf/done with our speed all around.

I don't understand how this team has all of the same issues as last year. Silly penalties, non-existent passing offense, poor clock management, waiting way too long to establish the run, not utilizing weapons like Duke in open space, "Angel" safeties... the list goes on and on.

I really don't see a difference between Hue and Haley's playcalling either.

Over/under on Hue making it past the bye week?

Man is it week 1 or week 8?

This team will be completely different mid season and if they don’t have the penalties and shit cleaned up by then then yeah it’s time to worry.

Penalties were up all across the board this weekend.

Narrator: They weren't.

Hue Jackson's teams have been undisciplined messes dating all the way back to Oakland. If you actually think they're going to clean it up the one thing Hue Jackson's teams have consistently done (besides lose) then you really are much more naive than I realized.

At this point, there is no reason to fire Hue. Make him reap what he has sown with this team. Then next year, the HC gets to begin the make over.

The worst thing that could happen is we give Haley the reigns, he goes on a winning streak and we waste more time with him. Dude is one of the least likable coaches in the NFL and looked like Will Ferrell next to Hue and Gregggggggg.

Coaches would be falling over themselves to coach this team next year.

Hue Jackson was the running backs coach in Washington DC on September 11th 2001. The Pentagon was attacked by a hijacked plane close by.

Go.

Funny talking about confirmation bias then blaming Hue for the end of the game rather than the player who had an inexcusable block in the back on the interception return or the player who let the FG attempt get blocked or the OC who was calling the plays. Plenty of blame to go around to everyone, even the WRs who struggled to get open. At the end of the day the team tied Super Bowl contenders in shitty weather and is off to their best start and 14 years and everyone is acting like the world is fucking ending.

How about we give it a few games, yeah?

There were many bad and a handful of good plays by both teams in that pillow fight of a final stretch that lead to the Browns having 36 seconds left on the clock and terrible conditions to try to kick a FG.

Let me ask you a question that should remove any confirmation bias...

If you didnt know which two teams were playing a game and I told you there were 36 seconds left, bad kicking conditions and they were currently kicking from 43 yards out..would you have encouraged the team with the ball to move it farther upfield?

Tyrod sucked. I've been an advocate of letting Mayfield sit at least until we figure some things out regarding the offensive line, let Tyrod take the initial lumps. But I honestly think Mayfield would have won that game. I hope Tyrod does better in the coming weeks, but it's gonna get real hard to keep Mayfield off the field for long unless Taylor looks like 400% better.I also think Haley's play calling was limited by what he was seeing out of Tyrod. The dude just needs to play better, period.

Well I’m really glad everyone preached patience and gave the coaches the benefit of the doubt because we don’t see the practices and they do

You should be able to call out a clearly trash decision before having to see the extremely predictable results
Depends on who you ask I guess.
