Cleveland Browns 2021 Regular Season: RIP

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, I suppose I was a bit of an Oracle for the board this season as far as accurate predictions. I’m not happy about it but I only call them as I see them, no bias. I’ll share my thoughts later in the year for 2022 when we get to camp but for now…go out and lose this last one Browns!

What a bummer of a season. Even having seen it coming it sucked. To a better 2022 I guess.

Keenum will start Sunday.

The Bengals have already started ruling players out, with 6 guys going on the COVID list today including Mixon and Hendrickson. Have to imagine Burrow and Chase won't be playing either.

I won't be surprised at all if the Browns win on Sunday. They'll still finish last and get the more favorable schedule in 2022 provided Baltimore wins at home over Pittsburgh, which should happen.

I know he went to Ohio State, but it’s crazy to me that people here want to trade for a guy who just sat out an entire season because he didn’t want to play with the bad Saints QB group. This is a player who refused to stay in contact with his team, one of the most well run and coached teams in the NFL, and then subsequently threw them under the bus by waiting to get surgery until just before the season started. We literally just went through this shit with OBJ and now you all want to repeat it with Michael Thomas?

If we’re going to spend big money on a WR, I’d rather just throw a bag of money at Chris Godwin. Yeah, he might not be ready to go until right around when the season starts, but he’s the opposite of a diva and he is an incredible WR. Oh, and he’s three years younger than Thomas too.

I don't totally disagree with Brad, but he's also conveniently leaving out that the brazen decision to blatantly tank did help get the head coach fired.
Decisions to tank usually come from above the head coach, so Pederson was likely gone, regardless, of the outcome of that game. It was a smart tactical move by the Eagles and it paid off.

The Browns have nothing to gain by beating a Bengals squad, who, themselves, will be missing numerous starters this weekend.

I think a lot of it depends on where you believe organizational culture starts/ends.

Is it with the owner? The GM? The head coach? The QB? With leaders on the team?

Because any sour feelings the Eagles players may have had at the decision to tank, even if ownership/GM totally signed off on it, never really had the opportunity to manifest during the offseason or the next season because Pederson and his whole staff was fired right away. A brand new staff was in there preaching a brand new message within a couple of weeks of the tanking incident.

Stefanski is not being fired. So the Browns are gambling that the returning players aren't going to care very much long-term that the Browns coaches, who ask these guys to put their bodies on the line every week, didn't necessarily do everything they could to help the players win a football game.

Unless he is genuinely hurt, I would be surprised if Cinci didn't play to win.

A Chiefs loss would move them to the #2 seed if they were to win. Which would guarantee 2 home games.

If they slide to the 4, they're gonna potentially get Bill B in round 1......which I would imagine they do not want.

Burrow just said he's sitting out fwiw.

Last Bengals win was against the Houston Oilers so if they draw the Patriots i don't look for a Cincinnati win.
