Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He's going to make mistakes like any rookie. However, it should be evident by now that he's also our best chance of scoring some points from the quarterback position.

This clearly means that Hue thinks he can get him along far enough by week 1. Hue's going to create a game plan that takes many things off his plate. He's going to be allowed to focus on what he does well. I expect a little zone read and some designed runs. I also expect a good bit of play-action if we can get the running game established.

The kid is going to be a good one. We will see flashes this year, as well as some really bone-headed throws. Either way, this is the best way for him to grow. Have some faith. Our coach happens to be a smart man and QB guru. It will be fine.

Good opportunity for Kizer and the Browns. Here's hoping it works out for once.

If Osweiller is not playing, he could be traded. If that happens, get ready for Kaepernick, Cleveland Browns fans!

Colleges that ran a pro style offense did have a lot of success producing pro ready QBs.

If you look for the success stories of college spread offense QBs, the search becomes a lot more difficult. Spoiler alert, you are about to mentally battle with your own conscious about publicly championing Ryan Tannehill.

Just some guys that immediately come to mind that didn't come from a pro style offense: Marcus Mariota, Andy Dalton, Derek Carr* (pro style his first year of college). They all started out fairly competent.

I don't know that Kizer is as ready as those guys were, or maybe he's more ready. I have no idea. But it's not unheard of for guys to come from some college air raid spread wing-T option nonsense and be capable early.

They technically haven't said that yet, they have just given him a third preseason game to start... and I agree with you.

I don't understand why you're touting this Steelers defense to be so great?

They haven't been good for 5 years.

I dont think Kaep is coming but i have been thinking it would be interesting to see what Hue could do with Kaep even though I find Kaep overthrows his targets way to often.

PS. Dalton started his first year under Hue with the Bengals. That worked out fine.

I don't understand the worry. This is the new age NFL. Guys are starting younger and producing younger. You either have it or you don't like Surge said.

They romanticize the sitting qb.

Manning, Aikmen, Elway and even Kozar started rookie year.

The biggest issue Keys and I have is how unprepared ND's offense made Kizer for the pro game. No huddles, no audibles, no snaps under center, etc.

But I do trust Hue and this is a very, very good sign how quick Kizer is progressing.

We aren't throwing everything at him at once. It's going to take time for him to get the full playbook/nuances of the offense.

This was a no brainer in my eyes. Nice to see a Browns regime that finally does some things right.

So.... What exactly does Kizer need to do to take Darnold, Allen, Rosen, Jackson and the inevitable Guy Who Surprises Everyone off your draft board for next year?

Numbers preferred. "Gut feelings" are for head coaches at Florida International University.

Obviously, which becomes an issue of predictability.

That said, Hue must feel he is better off with 30% of the offense with Kizer than 75% of the offense with Brock.

If you know how defenses work in the NFL, quite frankly that is equally as much of an endorsement for Kizer as it is a very sad statement on Brock.
