Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What exactly does he need to do to take Darnold, Allen, Rosen, Jackson and the inevitable Guy Who Surprises Everyone off your draft board for next year?

Numbers preferred. "Gut feelings" are for head coaches at Florida International University.

Not sure there is an exact way to quantify it outside of showing potential. How has everyone else done it over the course of history?

My best shot at quantifying it is...show the ability to make clutch/big plays, take less sacks, improve accuracy, expand the playbook, make smarter decisions (sliding/throwing into coverage) as the season goes on.

So.... What exactly does Kizer need to do to take Darnold, Allen, Rosen, Jackson and the inevitable Guy Who Surprises Everyone off your draft board for next year?

You wont be able to look at numbers, they most likely wont be good. You just have to pass a visual test. Is the ability there, is he making the right reed 80% of the time, arm talent there, etc.

Using a random example of a QB that played as a Rookie and is good, not great QB now is matt ryan.
QB rating of 87, completion of 61, 3400 yards 16 td's and 11 int. Played all 16 games.

Stafford is another QB who is decent. He is top 15, but not top 10 most likely.
QB rating of 61, completion 53.3 2267 yards, 13 td's 20 int.

So if Kizer is somewhere in there, 60%completion 20 td's, less than 20 int's, 3,000+ yards, QB rating of around 80.

This is all a tease for a post hopefully coming later tonight that will show the rookie seasons of all quarterbacks going back hopefully several years....

Fat face. :chuckle:

I don't understand why you're touting this Steelers defense to be so great?

They haven't been good for 5 years.

I have the Steelers as a top five team this year, with a defense that is improved from it's top ten finish last year. Baltimore was right with them last year defensively with a crappy offense, but bad stuff happens to road teams in week two home openers.

Without throwing any numbers out there?

Win more than 1 fucking game.

Numbers? Throw as many TD's as INT's at least, 3000+yds TOTAL (rush+pass), no more than 2 fumbles, a lot of smiles + enthusiasm, at least 1 jump into the Dawgpound

That was bout my stats. Its really an eye test with a rookie qb,. 3k yards, 58%+ completion, 20Td's and less than 20 int's.

INT's wont be as concerning for me as yardage per attempt as INT's are always crazy high for good rookies. They seem to push the ball down field but dont always see the whole field well their rookie year. It is a learned trait.

INT's are your typical rookie mistake thing.

If we trade him to Baltimore, we win twice.

The way i look at it, every dollar that we dont convert into signing bonus is a $1 saved, then what ever we get back from him is further bonus.

I wonder what changed Hue's mind? Was it his 11th over throw? 12th over throw? The fact that a 6'8 QB actually gets balls tipped at the line all the time?

Eat salary and get another pick, Squanchy Brown!

Do what you can to get anything out of him. Even if it's just a 7th rounder.
Would you be happy with that 7th round pick after we sign Clipboard Jesus in late October? I hope they shoot for a 4th.
