Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I should think a mediocre Bridge QB makes it more important that the QB taken at #1 be able to start from day one as it is likely they'll be called on to start in their first year at some point.
If the guy you think will be the best fit won’t be ready for year 1 then you just have to be patient with what will be a development year for the young guys and ride out the bridge QB through the good, the bad, and the ugly

I think we should have a plan for the rookie QB by the 3rd week of preseason and for the love of God stick to that plan.

I'd happily take Kirk. Just not at 40% of the salary cap.

Front load the contract if it makes you more comfortable.

QB isn't the only hole on this team.

Correct, but everything starts at the quarterback position. If you don't have a competent qb, you stand zero chance. The better your qb, the better your chances.

The salary cap isn't pointless when you have a handful of holes on the team. And no, plugging in a bunch of rookies isn't the answer, as we've seen..

The Rams have the second youngest roster in the NFL, so it's not impossible with a young team.

Cousins isn't coming here anyways, so whatever.

So that means we shouldn't even try?

He's so good Washington doesn't want him!
They wanted him enough to tag him for 2 years

But there is a lot of bad blood between the 2. It’s been well documented. Cousins did not want to sign there long term. It was probably best for both sides to start over. Washington getting rid of Cousins isn’t an indictment of his talent

...And the chances of the Browns pulling all that off are less than my chances of banging Emily Ratajkowski

@gourimoko
Im so tempted to throw a sig bet out there, but I am in the process of getting hammered at an airport bar. This certainly wont end well for me.

Alex Smith still relies a good bit on his athleticism

Skins are paying him until he will be 39

71 million dollars is a lot of money to guarantee. That’s more than the Dolans net worth

He isn't that great. The point has been made an absurd number of times on here by others such as the now absent boobie, but that is not the way for the Browns to go.

Uh, the point has been made, over and over again, that’s he’s a top 10 QB in the nfl

This is by pretty much every single QB statistic and has been consistent for 3 years now

Just because Arizona is on your side on this one doesn’t make you right

So you want to not get Rosen and go get Cousins? k.

Find me a single post I’ve ever said that

But he’s a fucking top 10 QB you absolute maniac

So why the fuck do you not want the guaranteed top 10 QB and would rather have an unknown rookie you maniac?

I want both lol

And you know what, fuck it. I want Bradford too. Let’s just hoard all of them QBs

Ok, if that's what we're doing, great, sign me the fuck up.

It isn't happening. We aren't dedicating a billion dollars to a QB and then selecting Rosen #1. I assume you're being tongue in cheek here.

Regarding Cousins, throwing up big stats doesn't make someone a great QB. What big games has Cousins won? What has he done in the playoffs? If you're giving a guy the biggest contract ever for a QB and handing him the keys to the franchise for the next however many years, I think I'd want a guy who has actually, like, won? Not just put up a bunch of stats and choked on a big dick whenever the Redskins really needed him. All of this sounds like I hate Cousins, and I don't. I think he's good. But he's being anointed by a lot of people for putting up a bunch of stats when that's half the battle.

If anyone thinks they're plugging Cousins in and he's going to throw for 5,000 yards next year on the Browns... :chuckle:
