Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I love @AZ_ new avatar. Who did that?

Can you expound?

Sure, I'm making fun of people using Jordan Palmer's opinion as Josh Allen's personal QB coach to drive their thinking or confirm their bias.

Man the Wentz comparison just makes no sense to me

I don't think they're similar prospects at all.

Of course not.

But pointing to a pretty damn good QB because they're big and saying "hey look, he's just like this other guy" is a pretty good strategy for his personal QB coach to employ.

Oh, I thought you actually meant that there was some damning stuff said.:chuckle:

PS - In before the Brandon Weeden comparison.

I will be quite alright if he's picked #1 or #4 by us. Personally, I'd be more concerned with snagging Barkley and drafting the next best QB available at #4. But, I'm sure the Browns will be set on their QB @ #1.

Draft Barkley #1 and draft Allen if you must at #4, or go with Rosen or Mayfield. I think it's a no brainer, IMHO.

I don't think they'll go that route, though. Because it's classic Browns. They're more likely to gamble on a QB (we've seen it time and time again) then go with the BPA. I hope that changes.

I don't think there is a clear #1 QB in this draft. Barkley is the clear #1 player in this draft, though. No doubt about it.

This dude needs a better website, also:

The quarterback rooms I’ve been in have been filled with names such as Jason Campbell, Jay Cutler, Blaine Gabbert, Chad Henne, Carson Palmer, EJ Manuel, Josh Mccown, Jimmy Clausen and many others.

I’ve also learned how to control personalities by playing with teammates such as Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens, Pacman Jones and a slew of others.

Wouldn't "classic Browns" be to actually take the overrated running back #1 overall?

No. Because a) he's not overrated and b) the Browns have never picked a RB @ #1.

The Browns, have, however, on many occasions, reached at a QB or failed at a QB pick multiple times in the 1st round.

Their picks of Trent Richardson and William Green were't great, either.

Well...isn't that true for every prospect? GM's don't come out and say "I'm taking this guy at No. 3". All they basically give us are generic comments in which they basically praise everyone. So, we rely on leaks/outside evaluators to tell us what NFL teams actually think of them. Obviously, some of us form our own opinions on how good someone is, but that still isn't the same as knowing what the NFL teams themselves think of each prospect.

The discrepancy is when the guy isn't actually a very good prospect, especially in comparison to the other guys around him. We have a guy that literally the entire argument for him is that he has a big arm, who came out of nowhere, I'm asking where it is coming from that this guy actually has a chance of going #1 and nobody can give me anything other than he has a big arm.

When this whole process began so long ago it was Darnold and Rosen. That's very telling to me.

How do we know he's not overrated? And, the Browns haven't taken a top-10 QB since 1999.

Enjoy your holiday!

Barkley and #1 AND Josh Allen at #4?

Watch the Rich Eisen show with Palmer on it. That was pretty good and they are doing polls and websites. It suprised me. Plus all the talking heads on TV are gravitating to it also. I think part of that is that they are jumping on the bandwagon. I don't know if they necessarily believe it. Same with draft gurus, most are saying it also. Some are still holding out. I personally have no idea who is going #1. I think Allen has the most upside, but out of the 4 he needs to sit and learn the most.

Nobody that has been following this for a long time thinks anything talking heads say proves anything of substance, so stop with the Rich Eisen Show and the "talking heads." :chuckle:
