Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Can we stop the shit spamming of disagrees constantly without a response.

Baker to me is the best Best QB in the class. We know this. I didn’t think Dorsey would go that route though, but this gives me some hope.

It’s more than likely another smoke screen...

This is to be productive conversation since you are pro Baker. I can see him being good, but please answer honestly.

Are you concerned with baker being a system QB or the conference he played in?

So many QB's like Brown's favorite Weeden or Colt have been busts in the NFL coming out of the Big 12 and coming out of high passing offenses. Just give your take on why you are confident that Baker is not the next Big 12 high powered offense QB to bust.

Thanks

Rosen is not a practicing Jew, he is ethnically and culturally Jewish, but doesnt practice.

Did someone say Rosen doesn't practice? Must be that spoiled rich kid mentality if you don't practice you can't get better he's obviously peaked as a quarterback look Josh Allen's work ethic and hand size and ELITE ARM TALENT chatter sources Friend of Dorsey oh dear YHWH just end this already

I’m not at all concerned with the system he’s in, and I don’t think that should have any legs in how good this player is.

I know it didn’t have any when evaluating RGIII who became the second pick right? @AZ_

I love the skill set. I know he threw to a lot of open guys, but when you watch Baker you see he’s extremely calm and collected in the pocket and when he runs it’s keeping his eyes down field and scanning for the open man. He is elite in the way he extends the play. I’d say he’s just a smidge better than Darnold at this point because you can see some panick in Darnold at times, but that’s just not evident in Mayfield at this point.

Then you have his excellent accuracy. I’d say best in the class, and the fact he can do it to every level of the field. He places the ball better than anyone away from defenders, and you can just look to the PFF stats on “big time” throws to provide the backing on that.

To me, he’s the best right now. Is that because he has the most seasoning? It’s very possible.

EDIT: should’ve known that would form another shot storm of disagrees. :chuckle:

To be fair, outside of actually going to a Synagogue, nothing makes you more Jewish than being rich and having a dad that is a doctor.

He does have 3 years on Darnold. I am a fan of Darnold, then Rosen (very close) then Baker.

The thing is Baker doesnt scare me like Allen, I just dont think Allen is worth a 1st round pick, and the top 3, maybe 4 with Lamar is worth a 1st round pick. And yes, I think Lamar is a better prospect than Allen.

I mainly agree I hate penalizing Baker because his conference has been ass at developing QB's, but it does play a concern to me. A much bigger concern than his size as we have way more examples of successful 6 foot qb's than we do successful Big 12 qb's.

You've already been warned about the personal shots and dragging threads down the shitter, stop whining about people disagreeing with your cliche-filled takes or trips down memory lane about former NFL Offensive Rookies of the Year you didn't like.

I was being serious. Did playing in the Big 12 have any effect on RGIII as a prospect??

He got hurt. He never got a chance to really show what he had. You’re taking what I said the wrong way.

Anyways. Big12/system should have a minimal affect on the way you feel about a guy if he shows you everything else. Baker checks the boxes.

RGIII didn't fall out of the NFL because of his injury. He fell out of the NFL because he isn't a good quarterback from the pocket.

Baltimore signing him basically shows that, offensively, they are a much worse football team than the Browns.

I agree. I didn’t like RGIII as a prospect personally...

I do think that Shannahan did him an absolute disservice letting him play with a torn ACL, and thus really put the odds against him when he injured t further. He didn’t really get that fair of a shake.

At the end of the day 99% of these rumors or "the FO is leaning toward X player" reports will prove false.

Either one, single rumor will hold true among the rest of the noise... OR we're going to be blindsided (i.e. Rosen is the pick). There is no in between and sifting through hundreds of rumors to determine the truth is borderline impossible.

I don't think anyone other than Dorsey (and maybe Highsmith/Wolf) knows the pick right now.

This Allen shit just seems so manufactured and there is way too much noise for an otherwise tight-lipped front office.

I think we can ALL agree on this.

Nobody has a damn clue who we’re taking.

I could see the Baker talk being real. I hate the system he was in, I hate the conference he was in, but that doesnt mean Baker wont become a very good QB in the pros, just means its very hard to evaluate him on his college career and you have to look at workouts and other traits.

Baker scares me because he has is such a huge gamble but could very well work out. Allen scares me because history tells us the chance of him working out is very, very low.

I've come around a bit to Baker to be honest, to the point I'd be happy with him, Rosen, or Darnold.
