Cleveland Indians 2018-2019 Offseason Outlook

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Who is Bauers and was he worth dumping Yandy for?

AZ is right, Carlos fell off a cliff.

And what the fuck are we doing with this Jake Bauers guy? I don't pay attention to batting average but goddamn when its .201 then it's going to catch my eye.

Yandy and Edwin for Los? Sheesh

Trading a young guy who can hit for a massively-overpaid and declining player who won't do shit for us.

#dumbasses

I'd like to read an explanation of why the Indians made this deal. Edwin + Diaz for Los seems like a lateral move at the very best (and that is if Los has a bounce back season in '19) PLUS Los is under contract for an additional season compared to Edwin.

Surely, there's more moves coming...

Don’t share the “Santana fell off a cliff” belief.

Same peripherals, just a career low in BABIP. Hit distribution and contact type all around his career averages.

Literally nothing he did suggests to me that he “fell off a cliff” especially when taking into consideration he was playing exclusively in the NL for the 1st time.

He’ll hit 20+ HRs, get on base 35+% of the time, and drive in 80+ runs like he usually does.

Don’t like giving up on Diaz though, but I have a few feelers our for Bauers that I’m waiting back on.

Weird trade IMO. Not sure what it accomplishes.

I don't actually think Carlos fell off a cliff last year. His BABIP was just down. His walks were actually slightly up and his K's slightly down.

I am very happy to have him back in this lineup.

As for Bauers for Diaz, that seems like a great deal to me. Bauers was a top 50 prospect prior to last year, is a good athlete, and was an on base machine in the minors.

They must love Bauers. Perhaps cash coming back to Cleveland?

Will wait and see, but doesn't accomplish too much with regards to the EE for Los portion of it.

So...we have 3 first baseman now....and basically the same contract.

What in the world is this trade?

Id take this as they are about to send someone out & want to use this move as a comp for the casual fan.
"Yea we traded X, but atleast we bought back Santana"
