Cleveland Indians 2018-2019 Offseason Outlook

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
looks like they are taking power over average. Bauers v Yandy.

Bauers can play OF as well folks. And has a ton of potential.

Feels like a setup to a Alonso trade IMO. You don’t trot out a DH that has to be platooned vs LHP...

I would assume that's the case, but is that the best they could do with Edwin? Get a nearly same contract for a worse player?

Don’t share the “Santana fell off a cliff” belief.

Same peripherals, just a career low in BABIP. Hit distribution and contact type all around his career averages.

Literally nothing he did suggests to me that he “fell off a cliff” especially when taking into consideration he was playing exclusively in the NL for the 1st time.

He’ll hit 20+ HRs, get on base 35+% of the time, and drive in 80+ runs like he usually does.

Don’t like giving up on Diaz though, but I have a few feelers our for Bauers that I’m waiting back on.

Weird trade IMO. Not sure what it accomplishes.
I mean Santana did go from a 3.4 WAR to a 1.7 in a single season. But I do understand we all love to spin stuff in different directions. If he can return to form in AL then it's a decent move. Still don't like dealing Yandy.

One thing this trade appears to accomplish (for right now, at least) is putting Ramirez back at third base, and Kipnis back at second base.

Bauers is a OF in name only. His UZR is miserable in the outfield.

Seems to me the Indians must see something in Bauers. Maybe launch angle can improve his power?
