Cleveland Indians Offseason News, Notes, and Rumors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How could you not have bashed the Kerry Wood deal? We finally spend some money and it is on a guy who had 1 good year as a closer and has been hurt the rest of his entire career. With such limited money to spend, we blow 10 million on a fucking closer? If you didn't hate that deal, you are an idiot.

My point is we had to overpay. And Dolan did it - so why are you bashing him and not the guys who decided that's where to spend the money.

As for this year, Dolan was willing to spend Beltran is coming off micro fracture (sound familiar?) and Pena is a strikeout machine. So both had issues.

But he was willing to spend - do bitch about Antonetti, but why is Dolan to blame?

So you're not privy enough to know who was out there.

But youre damn sure privy enough to bitch and complain about who they did sign.

Give me a break, be a man and find a name they should have gone after.

Willingham, Cuddyer at that price?

Who?

Trades? Maybe sign our own young players to extensions so we don't lose them in a couple of years? SOMETHING?

The Indians lose every offseason to hyperbole.

You guys are right. Kotchman, Lowe, and a bunch of minor league contracts is a great offseason. I don't know how we pulled it off!

I cringe whenever I see Slime Ball Antonetti and his slimy hair.

Who said it was?

All you want is to say every move the Indians make sucks and is somehow Dolan's fault. When anyone responds you talk past them at some made up stereotyped argument you think they are making.

The offseason sucked, there weren't many better options available and it isn't the Dolans' fault.

Sometimes there are holes on a team and just no better options to fix them. Using hyperbole (you have to get SOMEONE or ANYONE is better than HIM) doesn't magically create a new 1B out of thin air.

For the record, i do know who to bitch at and it's definitely Antonetti. Yelling at Dolan is like yelling at a wallet.

Indians utility man Jose Lopez is impressing so far in camp and likes his odds of making the big league roster out of Spring Training, according to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com. Lopez signed a minor league deal with the Tribe this offseason and had offers from other teams: "A couple teams asked me to sign with them," Lopez said. "Cleveland had more opportunity. ... They're giving me a chance, and now I'm fighting for a spot."

I don't mind the Grady Sizemore signing. For $5 M, the Indians weren't going to get a player with higher upside.

I don't mind the Derek Lowe trade. He should provide 200 IP and be a good enough 4th starter.

I really like the Kotchman signing. His defense will make a significant impact, and I think his bat is actually a bit underrated. Plus, he's a clear upgrade over Laporta.

The worst thing that happened to the Indians was Fausto...errr...Roberto Hernandez. By the time everything went down, Michael Cuddyer, Josh Willingham, Carlos Beltran, Jason Kubel, and Carlos Pena had already signed. Had Hernandez been caught earlier, the Indians might have had the ability to get one of the aforementioned players. Now, hopefully they can use Hernandez's money on a SP via trade.

It wasn't a great offseason, but I don't think it was a bad one either.

if the Tribe gets out of the gate like they did last year , there will some here that will always say we could have done more

if our pitching struggles out of the gate, the same will bitch

there will be some of us just content in rooting on the tribe

Go Tribe!

Your posts are always gems. Fans complaining that their team blows, gee, Cleveland certainly invented that concept.

and I momentarily take you off the IGNORE LIST to respond

its not that cleveland invented fans complaining their teams blows , its more having a balanced opinion and actually seeing the good and bad in this years team.

and you wonder why no one wanted to sign up for your fantasy baseball league . . .and it wasn't the $25 entrance fee Mr Personality

Stop bragging about who you have on your ignore list in a sports forum. You do that every time you respond to someone that you have ignored. We get it, you know how to ignore people.
