Cleveland Indians Offseason News, Notes, and Rumors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Pujols isn't going to Miami, Fielder isn't either.

And even if they did, the Marlins only have enough pitching to finish third in that division anyway.

And I'd lay solid odds that Reyes is dealt within four of those years.

The way Reyes' contract is back-loaded, I'd be surprised if they can unload him.

2012 $10M
2013 $10M
2014 $16M
2015 $22M
2016 $22M
2017 $22M

That's just nasty.

WOW. This is going to turn out to be one of the worst contracts of all time. Especially when he just stops caring.

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reported Tuesday that Derrek Lee was on the Indians' radar, but evidently the interest isn't mutual.

Not surprising.

While this point is certainly valid, it doesn't change the fact you can win without adequate production from a traditional power position.

Especially if you have power at non-traditional position (Kipnis 2B, Sizemore CF).

Santana, Cabrera, Kipnis, Choo, Hafner, Chisenhall, Sizemore. All of those guys have the potential for 20+ homers and 70+ RBI...this season.

I certainly don't expect that from all of them, but I don't think you can argue that if healthy the above players aren't capable.

Good Luck

Jayson Stark reporting that there are 3 teams with 200+ million dollar offers. Cardinals, Angels and the 'mystery' team. The unknown team supposedly has an established 1st baseman they would have to trade. Obviously it's complete speculation, but hey, we can hope that mystery team signs him and jump in for a trade.

Yankees.

Pujols to Anaheim. The mystery team was Miami (even after signing Reyes), but took themselves out of the deal because they were reluctant on giving Pujols a full no trade clause.

bob was right again, said earlier in the week pujols wasn't coming back to st louis
