-: lyXo's Keys to the Game :-
* First game of the new year for both teams. First game back with the old leather ball. For all of the haters, this is the time to prove why you hated the new ball, and how much you loved to score with the new one. All eyes on you, LeBron James.
* Pound it inside to the big man. The Spurs rarely have to play defense against their own game... they just won't like it. Since Z has been on fire, let us jump on his train and slow the opponent down in the paint. The only man that will be able to mark him is Duncan, and we want to give their "MVP" as much work as possible.
* Get Drew Gooden involved. It generally is a game for him to forget, ones against the Spurs, but if we get him in the game early, being another post option, we will cause trouble up front against a suspect frontline after Duncan... Oberto, Horry...
* Daniel Gibson needs a big game. He'll be the number called when Tony starts to torch us. We simply need to prevent his penetration, we cannot be forced to break down on defense.
* Match their bench... Donyell has been great recently, and we hope that will continue. Damon Jones needs to find his shot, and Varejao needs to scrum them to keep them on their heels. Brent Barry is no joke this season, and Finley is always ready to play.
* Play some regular, good old basketball. If we play heel-to-heel with the Spurs, limiting turnovers, scoring efficiently, then we can rise to the top with the explosive talent of LeBron James.
Always the optimist...
Cavaliers take it in a nail biter, 82-80
