Projecting things like court vision and feel for the game are really really hard if not impossible, as far as I know. Like projecting a QB’s anticipation and pocket sense at the NFL level. Some of the laziest most hardheaded guys had an impeccable sense for making the right basketball play and where to be on the court. Sexton’s work ethic and dedication bode well for certain things. I’m curious how a team projects a player like Sexton and his chances of solving the half-court. It comes down to information chunking, processing speed, and shit like that.

Huh????

I don't care what type of system you put Dion in, he will never reach D-Wade levels of play. NEVER.

The problem with Waiters was never talent. He had a ton of talent. He's just dumb. He'll never be able to reach his potential because he's just not smart enough on the court.

Not know but i think he had the correct mindset coming out of college if he had the correct system and teacher. But you are correct he never even come close to D-WADE and has already set his place in Nba.

Sorry i do not post much I am learning as i go. i didnt mean to run everything together

This. Skill set was dwade potential. But if dwade was an idiot.

I just hope Sexton has high ball IQ.

and please stay away from JR.. for the love of god.

Sexton had at a 3.7 gpa in high school, and a 4.0 in college. My guess is that all he needs is more time where he is given good coaching. I think he's going to figure it all out just fine.

Didn't know a damn thing about him before the draft, but I'm really high on him now. Rather have him than Trae Young. Easily.

Imo, not an indicator of good BALL IQ..

I haven’t watched him play, and I’m not going to go through highlights which don’t tell the full story.

Has anyone followed Sexton or seen a full game? Can you elaborate on his ball IQ? The non scoring plays, etc.

Sexton plays about a billion mph. When the game starts slowing down, I think you will see a different player who can change his speed on a dime. His start-stop ability is awesome.

I think he is still understanding the game. It's important to note that he is still only 19 and learning. He doesnt feel out a game, he just goes out there and runs through a brick wall.

He kind of reminds me of Derrick Rose. When Rose first broke into the league, the guy was insanely fast but he didnt become MVP until he learned how to dribble drive. I like the Westbrook comparison, but Sexton is more advanced as a scorer and shooter and Westbrook is more athletic and an insane defender.

We will see. I do love the potential. I dont love the skill set. I hope he can get it all sorted.

Can some people on here give their opinion on how Sexton would fit playing next to a Kemba or Lonzo?

And could they essentially start together in the backcourt as SG/PG?

Agreed. First, Dion is not in D-Wade's league as an athlete, worker, or leader. From what I've seen of him, he's lazy and thinks his natural talent is enough to get him by. He's also very lacking in court awareness. Dion may flash occasionally, but he won't ever do it consistently.

I don't think that is a good idea with either.

I'm excited to watch this kid play. Summer League is just a few days away !
