Whoever leaked the info about Flynn to the NY Times did Trump a huge favor. At an absolute minimum, Flynn failed to register as a paid foreign agent for both Russia and Turkey. All of this would have come out sooner or later.

If Flynn was still working for Trump and this came out through the oversight committees or the FBI investigation the fall-out would have been exponentially worse for the Trump administration.

Trump should be thanking whoever leaked that shit.

I'm betting there's a whole lot more to the collusion/cooperation that hasn't surfaced yet, but the FBI isn't going to divulge a word of it until they nail it down as air tight as possible.

Comey knows if he allows anything at all to trickle out Trump and his operatives will take actions to diffuse, discredit, and deflect.

There is nothing worse than having idiots on your side. Having bigots on your side isn't good either. I guess it never occurred to the Birthers why all the publicity they got came from the left....

When that whole thing arose right at the beginning, I had an open mind because I just didn't know any facts. But as soon as that newspaper blurb of his birth appeared, it was obvious to anyone with two working brain cells that 1) he was born in Hawaii, or 2) if he wasn't, there was never going to be a chance of proving he wasn't. It should have been a dead issue right then, and made the rest of us look bad when they wouldn't give it up.

Perhaps there is a reason why chief political strategist Steve Bannon attends the National Security Council meetings and has access to its data (breaking all precedent), some of which has subsequently been deployed politically and selectively to the House Intelligence Committee Chairman.
