Just so you're aware, a lot of us conservatives have the exact same experience with people on the left -- not just on the coasts but in the Midwest as well.

Wait a minute. Those weren't fake. They were true. If you want to say that Hillary lost because the Russians exposed dirty dealings within the DNC, I think that's a defensible position to take. Can't be proven, obviously, but it may have been the case.

If you think those documents had that impact, then what happened was that voters decided that the facts contained in those documents were more important to their voting choice than the fact that the Russians got them illegally. Voters are certainly entitled to make that determination, which I personally think was kind of a no-brainer.
If voters were entitled to know about Comey coming out with re-opening the Hillary investigation, what would have happened if they also knew the Trump campaign has been under investigation of collusion since July 2016? You don't think that might have dulled the Hillary allegations with the rust belt swing voters that determined the result?

And instead of WikiLeaks I actually meant to say the Russian flooding of social media with fabricated memes and links to alt right sites influenced swing voters and that certainly was fake. The WikiLeaks stuff may have been true but in the end it was mostly a nothingburger that cast doubt. To release hacked emails from one side and not the other certainly could sway and influence voters. What if someone would have released a trove of RNC and Trump campaign emails from Manafort and Carter Page, you don't think that might have caused some waves? But no, they only released one side to hurt Clinton. You really think that's how we want the public to get information, through hacked and leaked private messages from one side only?

I hate arguing this because I really dislike Hillary and I kind of don't give a crap that she lost. But I'm pretty pissed about the way Trump won because it was as slimy as it gets, and bad for our already shitty electoral process.

Melania isn't wearing any panties?

You could be right. But not what I am getting at.

Spelled it out above. Three pictures. Three words.

Connecting dots. Isn't that what conspiracy nuts do?

...they heard false allegations of raping 13 women.

Please.

Hillary was a bad candidate and no one was listening to what the people who voted trump werr saying. And then they had the audacity to petition in every way possible to steal the election and discredit them, and protest a democratic referendum.

People don't like Trump, they just used him as a murder weapon. All your people do all day is find fault with anything he does. 98% would vote the same way as they did for trump after hearing it all. 96% Clinton. The gap has WIDENED since the election. Its all out there. 30% trust msm anyways.

67% believe the democratic party is out of touch. They lost 2600 out of 3200 counties. I almost shit myself when bernie made some anti sjw comments this week. Huffpo wrote an article damning someone who posited that they needed to stop demonizing white people.

The arrogant, blind, hard headedness is insane. Maybe people dont think Whats leading to literally segregation is good. Maybe the irony in blm shutting down a bernie sanders speech is too great to ignore. Maybe they dont think "ah well fuck the old people and their votes they'll die off soon" is digestible.

Maybe they think calling people racist if they dont like the way thr economy is turning out and if they question how islam integrates with western culture around the world is outrageuous and implications that goddamn russians stole the election is as deplorable as literally who you guys were cramming down everyone throats with pomposity as our next president (mainly because vagina) was deeming all of them in an incendiary and bigoted fashion.

Maybe you lost. To people you dont like. Because you lead them to beat you because you wouldnt listen, and youre pouting and punching down and calling everyone stupid, even in defeat, and theyre sick of it and how wrong you are.

A lot of people hate a lot of you guys. Youre acting like spoiled brats who got your toys taken away.

But they did know. That's the entire point that has amazingly gotten lost in this mess.

When the WikiLeaks scandal first broke in July 2016, the immediate response of the Clinton campaign was that "17 intelligence agencies agree that this is the Russians trying to interfere with our election." I've posted the articles before. And there were immediate accusations of collusion between the Russians and Manafort, etc.... There was a full-court press by the pro- Hillary media to convince voters they should care more about Russia than about the documents themselves. This is just one article from July 2016:

Donald Trump and Russia: a web that grows more tangled all the time

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jul/30/donald-trump-paul-manafort-ukraine-russia-putin-ties

Further, even 9 months later, there still isn't a shred of evidence of collusion between Trump and the Russians. The CIA and FBI both have said that, and its worthwhile noting that it was the Obama Administration and it's appointees who were running both organizations throughout 2016, and they still couldn't produce anything.

You don't think that might have dulled the Hillary allegations with the rust belt swing voters that determined the result?

Oh sure, maybe it did, because as I just stated, the Russian link was the first-line (really, the only) defense ever offered regarding those documents. The point is that the Russia story is not new, and was in fact already out in the open prior to the election. Whatever voters thought of WikiLeaks and Russia, they cast their votes based on that knowledge. So if you're right, and knowledge of the Russia connection would have affected voters, than it would have done that in November, at the polls, because the Russia angle had been blasted at 11 by Hillary and her media supporters for months.

And instead of WikiLeaks I actually meant to say the Russian flooding of social media with fabricated memes and links to alt right sites influenced swing voters and that certainly was fake.

Well, there's no way to prove what affected swing voters, and what didn't. I'll just state that I believe I'm more familiar with discussions on conservative websites than you probably are, and what I saw was the rabid Trump types posting that shit everywhere they possibly could, and everyone else rolling their eyes at it. They were preaching to the converted. If you want an example of what I mean, there was a story posted on the election thread here about Hillary munching carpets back in 1994. Here's a link to that discussion:

In other words, he really doesn't know what happened....

For that matter, it wouldn't and shouldn't matter even if she did. Hillary munching carpets more than 20 years ago is not exactly an issue relevant to the future of the country.

Notice that the article was posted by @Kiddo , who was the paradigm of a die-hard Trump supporter. And everyone else, including me, mocked it and didn't care. From my experience, that's the same thing that happened with those "fake news" stories in general. If you believe differently, fine. It really can't be proven either way.

The WikiLeaks stuff may have been true but in the end it was mostly a nothingburger that cast doubt. To release hacked emails from one side and not the other certainly could sway and influence voters.

According to @gourimoko -- and I'm pinging him because if my memory is wrong, I hope he corrects me -- the real problem in the election wasn't Trump getting extra support - it was Hillary not getting enough. Again, there isn't really any way to prove this, but my guess is that potential democrat voters who stayed home were less likely to be influenced by weird alt-right conspiracy theories based on fake news from Russia (which they may never even have seen because those voters wouldn't visit most of those sites anyway) than they were by truthful, highly-publicized WikiLeaks docs showing that the DNC screwed Bernie, Clinton Foundation stuff, etc.. That's just an opinion, though.

What if someone would have released a trove of RNC and Trump campaign emails from Manafort and Carter Page, you don't think that might have caused some waves? But no, they only released one side to hurt Clinton. You really think that's how we want the public to get information, through hacked and leaked private messages from one side only?

One-sided leaking of damaging information has been a part of American politics since Christ was a corporal. Bush's DWI conviction being leaked (illegally) the weekend before the 2000 election? Even Dan Rather's bogus hit piece on Bush was based on a document that would have been leaked illegally. Shit, a bunch of the stuff about Russia was illegally leaked to damage Trump post-election. And at least to me, it appeared as if the press was a whole lot more interested in digging up stuff on Trump (including the rape stories that all magically vanished) than they were on Clinton.

So no, this really doesn't bother me. One-sided leaking by parties interested in an election is completely normal, and our government actually does it all the time in other countries.

Nobody knew that the Trump campaign was the target of an FBI investigation on collusion until Comey mentioned it in the House Committee hearing a month or so ago. But they did know about the re-opening of the Hillary email investigation.

Huge difference between that and random news stories and vague allegations linking the Trump campaign to Russia.

Hillary was a beyond horrible candidate and I don't blame anyone for voting against her. But if you don't think the Russian collusion allegations have legs, we'll just have to wait and see. The FBI is keeping quiet about what evidence they have until if and when they can make charges stick, and that could take awhile. Not going public is the way it's supposed to be, bleeding info and leaking info is not the way investigations are supposed to run.

Maybe there is nothing that will stick, maybe there is. But if you think the absence of info from the FBI indicates there is nothing there, I think you'll find out you're wrong before it's over. The only question will be how high it goes.

You're the biggest snowflake here, but the confused semi alt right version. You like to lump moderates like me into the same group as the extreme left because I don't like Trump, but there's plenty of conservatives far to the right of me who will never like Trump either. I'm probably more conservative than you on certain issues. GFY.

My biggest issue with all of this is I believe the election results were tainted by a foreign power.
