So I just got a job selling Cutco knives and was wondering if anyone had any interested. I live in Mentor and would like to keep it within 30 minutes driving distance. All knives are American made, come with a forever guarantee and free resharpening. PM me if interested.

Wow cant believe the company is still around still convincing unsuspecting teenagers to sell over priced knives to their friends and family for less profit than they should be making.

It is a good life lesson for you. Stick it out for at least 3 months.

You guys remember when Ruanu had that thread offering a bunch of people jobs? And then we started asking probing questions...

I dont remember that at all, is that what ran him off?

He leased an Audi A5 for 72 months...lives with his parents.

I bought an audi A4 and my mother in law moved in with me for a bit after her divorce. Are you making fun of me too?

Are you trying to sell just the water filters or the licenses to sell the water filters?

It's a legit company. I'll be making 14.25 per appointment or commission, whichever is higher. Commission gets up to 30%. And they are guaranteed FOREVER. Can't really beat that...

there is so much room for fuckery on that comp plan. no base, which means they arent willing to invest in their reps, which means they hire anyone, which means theyre throwing spaghetti at a wall hoping somethign will stick and they are trying to lure you in with promises of lifetime residuals to keep you on the hook. its outside sales, they havent spent a dime on marketing. theres no base. if you have a bad day you dont make a dime. bad week, dont make a dime. nothing to make you feel comfortable.

how bout 30g gauranteed with decent commissions? and sitting down in an office and letting the interested leads come to you, doing inbound sales? that sounds like it would beeat that.

Cutco is probably a good gig for a while if you can't find anything else and are a good salesperson, but aren't there are bunch setbacks to it? Like tons of training courses (that I believe you have to pay for)?

The right person can probably do well, but it wouldn't be for me.

I actually have a set of Cutco. Good product. Dude since they are guaranteed, how do I get them sharpened back up? Where do I need to send them?

You can definitely beat that...but it's gonna take at least a college degree from a school that has a dedicated sales program or 3-5 years of B2B experience or a few licenses.

I don't know enough about Cutco to know the specs on the position, but if you're making money on commissions and appointments, then like Lee said...good learning experience for you. What can it hurt?

If they're making you pay for training materials or making you pay for ANYTHING really...this is not a good idea.

If you can sell those things, you can probably sell anything. If you enjoy doing it, then someday sales might be for you. I've never heard of anyone that lasted more than about a summer selling Cutco knives...which I have heard are actually a good product as the other user stated.
