Damn, Jimmy G this is some serious good quarterbacking.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The analysis here is that Jimmy Garoppolo, is worth the 1st and 14th overall picks! He was the 62nd overall pick three seasons ago, a slot whose value is 8.3. According to this doofus, it is now at 52.2

I seriously would like to look at how you adjust his original value of 8.3 to whatever it actually is now.

He's been through 3 training camps and NFL seasons. So, what would you trade in draft picks to magically put Mitch Trubisky in suspended animation and come out of it with 3 years of experience as a backup to one of the all time great quarterbacks? Before you answer, remember that Brock Osweiler had 4 such years experience.

What are 2 decent starts in the NFL worth? Certainly a boost. Imagine I could take you to an alternate universe and show you that Mitchell Trubisky could be placed on a Super Bowl caliber team for 2 games and not only NOT totally shit the bed, but look pretty good? What would you trade in draft picks for that knowledge? Before you answer, remember that Brock Osweiler had 7 starts on such a team, including 1 in the playoffs.

So maybe you say, "I'd trade a 1st overall pick to magically give Trubisky 3 seasons of backup experience, right now!" And maybe you'd say you'd give up a 14th overall pick for the knowledge that he could have 2 good games quarterbacking a Super Bowl champion.

Which means maybe you'd do the same trade for Garoppolo.

Except for one thing. I cannot magically put Jimmy Garoppolo on year 1 of his rookie contract. You only get 1 season to decide if he's worth a big fat contract. Or you could, after trading picks worth the #1 and #14 picks in the draft, ALSO negotiate your own deal with the guy beforehand, to make sure no desperate team signs him next off-season. Does this sound like a remotely reasonable thing to do?

No.

Someone tweeted that they didn't want Jimmy to Grossi because backup New England QBs suck.

He responded with (rough paraphrase) well yeah, Brady.

How does the King of Shit Takes have a job? How is there not a better person to be the beat reporter?

I have a better chance of being president than the Patriots do getting a top 12 pick and 3 seconds for Jimmy G.

If the price for a backup QB is that, the Browns will just trade up IMO. It would be significantly cheaper from a draft capital perspective.
significantly cheaper for a reason

Which is funny because from that article he says
No. 1 and No. 12 overall for a guy with 94 career passes? No freaking chance.

So #1 and #12 is "no freaking chance", but #1 and #14 is fair?

Never realized there was such a gulf between #12 and #14.

I just don't believe in any unknown player being worth that kind of package. You're essentially saying that you couldn't take 4 swings at a QB that would result in a player as good as an unknown backup?

For the right price, I'm on board but anything near a 1st and three 2nds would be laughably stupid to me....and that's without even considering what we then have to pay him.

I agree. I just wouldn't trade up for any of these guys.

Hard to believe you are old enough to get on the internet without parental supervision.

Hard to believe you are making that statement on a website dedicated to the World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, lead by the indomitable King James.
Is that like a dinosaur name man?

Any mention of Myles Garrett or the #1 overall is a total deal breaker. I do believe there is wiggle room with the #12, but it requires some erudite maneuvering from both the Pats and Saccharin Brown.
