Damn, Jimmy G this is some serious good quarterbacking.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If this guy goes to one single pro-bowl as a non-alternate, I will get my left nipple pierced.

Any mention of Myles Garrett or the #1 overall is a total deal breaker. I do believe there is wiggle room with the #12, but it requires some erudite maneuvering from both the Pats and Saccharin Brown.

Meh. Surrendering #12 for a guy who hasn't started at least eight games is asking for trouble.

Hopefully Salacious Brown views discretion as the better part of valor.

So you are against taking any rookie QB with a high pick such as #12, ever?

I have no set policy. It is entirely dependent on the prospect. An Andrew Luck is deserving of a top pick whereas a Trubisky is not.

Jimmy G's value is what teams are willing to pay. At this point NE is artificially raising it. Dude can leave next year. All things considered the Sam Bradford price was ludicrous. The market is small. Offer them some second round picks. If they refuse then fuck them. They either lose him with no compensation in FA or pay out the ass for a backup. They can posture but reality comes knocking.

Gotcha, your comment sounded like because Jimmy has very limited experience he is undeserving of the value of the #12 pick. Obviously all rookie QBs will have less experience than Garoppolo. I have no issue with your value on Garoppolo being much less than the #12 pick but I do have issue with folks that say he doesn't have that value because he doesn't have the experience but we should take X QB in the draft at 12.

I don't believe there is a QB in this draft that is worth the #12 pick. I have serious concerns about all of them. Trading Garoppolo for the #12 straight up is also something I'm not keen on. I can live with it if he turns out to be great but I'm not confident in that. If we are trading the #12 pick for a QB, I'm doing so for Kirk Cousins. Not sure that is possible though.

I think all of the arguments are assumed to be - Jimmy G for #12, if the Pats do not bite - go with a rookie QB at #12. For me, i do not believe that is what a lot of posters are stating, I could be wrong.

I would be willing to roll the dice on Jimmy G for #12, if not - draft BPA. In my humble opinion, non of the draftable QBs fit the bill at #12. Whether it is OJ Howard or a better defensive prospect, go that route and grab a developmental QB in the later rounds. I feel like the 12th will have far more value come draft day than people think. Whether we draft someone at #12 or trade down for more picks, that is up to the Browns brain-trust and I will give them the benefit of the doubt if they choose to go that route.

I liked Jimmy Garoppolo in the 2014 draft. I like him even more now that he's been in a winning organization, learning the game and acclimating to a professional offense under the very best tutelage. The "Matt Cassel" effect does not scare me. If anything, it speaks to the high quality coaching he's receiving that they were able to get Cassel to play so well in New England.

I would be willing to deal #12 for Jimmy Garoppolo. I would even be willing to trade #12 and a 2018 3rd.
My starting bid, I would propose #33, #52, and a 2018 3rd.

However, all these bullshit packages manufactured by the media about 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders, or #12, both 2nd's this year, and a 2nd next year.... that just makes me want to punch a baby. Deal him, New England, he's on your bench and you're going to lose him anyway eventually.

For the Browns, I would remain steadfast. If they like Jimmy, he'll be on the market again next year. I'm not giving the poop that's being slung at walls by beat writers.

Jimmy G hasn't proven enough to be worthy of a first round pick. He was a second round pick three years ago and his 94 passes and injury does not move him up to the first round. I don't give a shit about what QB's are available in this draft we're talking about Jimmy G and if he's good enough now to be worth a #12 pick when he hasn't done shit but throw 94 passes and get hurt. Miss me with the his vale is what NE sets it at. I don't give a shit what they think his value is. He's not worth it.

My issue with him for the number twelve pick is that, when he was drafted, he clearly was not worth a pick that high. What has he done since then to justify his price rising to that level? Nothing.

Jesus Christ. There's no chance in hell I'd give up that much unless I was 100% certain Jimmy was a franchise QB. There's maybe 10 QB's that I'd give up that kind of compensation. JG is certainly not one of them.

Because of age, there isnt even 10 i would give up that much for. Half the top 10 is too old at this point.

But i do agree with your point.

I was in the boat of trade the 12th pick for him until i was convinced at how much more valuable 5 season on rookie scale is over Jimmy having only 1 year left on the deal.

If contract isnt an issue, he is worth the 12th pick, but when making trades everything matters.

This years 2nd next years 3rd or Belicheck can eat a cock.

If you think Jimmy is worth the #12 pick in this draft then why isn't he worth a top 5 pick?
