Damn, Jimmy G this is some serious good quarterbacking.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
McCown would have definitely won 2 or 3 of the games that Kizer blew for us, all other things being the same.

Todd Bowles is a good coach.

It's actually amazing how much coaching matters.

Bowles did an amazing job motivating his entire team. He has been highly regarded for a long time.

If we want to sit back and play the hindsight game, remember the reason McCown didn't return: a top 33 - 40 pick for absorbing Osweiler. If we want to play the hindsight game, it was possible to try to keep McCown and cut Osweiler immediately, but McCown would have to be retained as a free agent when it was obvious the Browns were moving on. After two fairly poor seasons, McCown signed for 6 million guaranteed with New York. Would the fans really be happy with a bidding war for Josh McCown last spring? I would have been furious.

McCown is just one veteran and an easy example of what any solid vet would have made. When it became clear the Browns were moving on from Osweiler they should have signed a different vet instead of sticking with 3 inexperienced quarterbacks. Too bad Osweiler looked like a complete waste of time otherwise we could have had our cake and eaten it too.

I believe you were pretty much on board with not rushing Kizer as well, more than I was at the time. At the time I thought Kessler had a chance but he completely regressed form last year, and it was before Hogan showed he was virtually unplayable. Our QB cupboard turned out to be completely bare. I always wanted someone like a Fitzpatrick or someone similar to bridge and mentor.

If Bill thought Jimmy was the truth, why not keep him? Brady isn't going to stay young forever. He'll eventually fall of a cliff soon.

Garoppolo is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. With Brady already set to make 22M in 2018, the idea of franchising Jimmy (the only way they could have kept him) and paying your backup QB 25M+ wasn't feasible.

No team can realistically tie up 50M guaranteed dollars into two guys that play the same position, especially when one would only see the field in the event of an injury.

My point is if Bill though he was the next Andrew Luck perceived guaranteed talent, you would move on from a 41 year old Brady and go with this guy.

Bill probably won’t be coaching much longer

McCown had his best season this year since he was in Chicago, but it ended exactly how you would expect a McCown season to end...

Keys goes old school with the graphics....

Why? Brady might be the MVP this year and Bill might just retire when Brady retires and call it a career.

Both Billicheck and Brady will be mentioned in the GOAT conversation, neither has anything left to prove. Why move on from Brady if he has even 2 more years? Bill might only have 2 more years.

In those regards, that makes sense. I can’t imagine him not coaching though.

Bill is 65 years old and net worth of 40 million.

At some time he will call it a career, and it will be sooner than later.

Yeah move on from the guy who just won another super bowl last year. And might win another this year. And then in the foreseeable future.

The best quarterback of all time. Move on from that guy.... lol.....

What a joke.

When Tommy Tom Tom is gone, I think ‘ol Wild Bill is gonna step away, too.

Trading Jimmy seems to me an indication that Bill has no intention of sticking around once Brady is done. He's going all in now and for however much longer Brady is able to play.
