Jason Terry was a low key monster in Dallas.

60.5 win shares with a 3.4 OBPM in his eight years there.

Oh I know. He was one of the best shooters of all time, so to say that Garland has that ability is a huge compliment.

The way Garland shoots the ball is so effortless.

I think this kid has something special in him. I just watched the press conference and he seems like a ball player. You know what I mean? He just seems like he's all about basketball. He is an excellent shooter. Collin and Him are going to be interchangable at the 1 and 2. We're going to be a good 3 pt shooting team next year.

This guy is amazing. Look at how he moves his feet with such quickness.

Garland is just an incredible shooter. I think he has a chance to be up there with the best snipers in the game

I believe Kevin Love had our only 30-point game last year and it wasn't until February. I don't think we'll have to wait as long this year.

The draft is a crapshoot and trying to pretend that the Cavs big board had everything to do with Garland being their guy at the top, instead of the fact that teams in the lottery and outside the lottery needed a pg upgrade and there was a limited supply in this draft class raised his value further.
Trying to suggest you "know " he wasn't picked to be flipped is ignorant, even if the trades didn't happen or don't.

I just don't think it would have been wise for the front office to pick Garland to flip him. The league is flush with starting caliber PGs. Kyrie, Kemba, and Patrick Beverley are all unrestricted free agents. Brodgon and Rozier are restricted free agents. D'Angelo Russell is a restricted free agent that will probably be a unrestricted if Kyrie signs with the Nets. There is also the lower tier starters like Collison, Elfrid Payton, and Rubio who are free agents. Then there are probably a couple more guys that could be traded if the right offer came along.

Alot of those teams have guys that can replace their starter if they leave. Really the Suns and Lakers are the only teams that need a PG right now.

What’s the best comparison for Garland? Curry? Kyrie? Somewhere in between?
It looks/sounds like he can shoot curry status, which is saying he could/should be at the very least an elite shooter.

Curry/Lillard hybrid in terms of play style.

Just watched some highlight videos of his... Really smooth, krafty and nice range... Hope his body develops well looks like he has the same body type as Kyle Lowry...

Although they have the same size and play the same position, looks like he and Sexton plays a different way. Sexton is intensity, grit and athlethicism/quickness, while Garland plays like he plays effortless, relaxed and not dependent on athletic ability...

Just need to wait and see, how their partnership works on the court...

Darius Garland.

Seriously, player comps are stupid. If they weren't, you could look at the NBA starting PG's right now and find a bunch of them that are the same. Or, we'd still be using archetypes from history, rather than continuing to use more recent ones.

Let's discuss players' strengths and weaknesses, what they do well, what they might struggle with, etc.

Some things you shouldn't admit in public. You might also be the biggest Backstreet Boys fan, but I wouldn't admit that out loud either.

just because wiggins had assaulted the idea that he should be good doesn't mean you should lump him in a convo about sexual predator Nick Carter. Wiggins atleast seems like a good human being

Player comps are a bad idea if you're arguing about how good someone is. They're okay if you're trying to describe very generally issues like fit.
