I am sorry but I can't help myself from posting this, it is from a satirical show we had 20 years ago and fits the discussion perfectly.
Bad English with subtitles, apologies for the crap quality.

Haven't the Jewish people suffered enough.

For you guys who are here supporting Blatt, I challenge the fact that you would be as invested in this team were it not built as a contender (ie. Lebron wasn't here). I think a few of you would be, but the majority wouldn't.

The unspoken maxim there being that a coach's impact, and therefore credit and support, is always understated in the media, history, perception, etc.
Fighting (or in this case posting) against such norms will always be a losing effort and the energy should instead be pointed elsewhere.

F'k the hypotheticals. I post in the here & now. The now being that Blatt has done a good job so far.

I agree, but that should also apply to criticism of the coach. And that's the problem. He's getting very little credit for things that look good, but heavily criticized for things that don't. That seemingly has started to shift a little bit as analysts have to explain how a beaten-up Cavs team with LBJ shooting so poorly has been able to go 8-2 in the playoffs, but generally, it's been one-sided.

Are you saying that our postings on other subjects are actually "winning efforts"? What the hell does posting on anything "win"? We're just a bunch of fans yakking it up for the end goal of our own enjoyment. We don't post here to change the world, or to accomplish anything.

So yeah, bitching about press coverage of the coach won't "win" anything. Just as bitching about the refs, Harden's flops, or how much we hate Kelly Olynyk won't "win" anything either.

David Blatt got 2 series to figure out how to defend 3 point shooters like Dunleavy, Butler, Korver whover else from the Hawks team in preparation for the Warriors-Cavs Finals

I do believe we still need to actually win the ECF before considering the Finals.
Let's at least split in ATL before we start discussing the finals.

You know, actually, sometimes I think about it, and because I really like David Blatt and I want other people to appreciate him as I do, I wish he didn't coach a team with such great players. I think that he could take the shittiest team in the NBA and take it to the playoff. Then everybody will know it's HIM.

Like many, I long for those little inside the locker room videos we've seen through this season. Well they dropped another one on us, this time the reaction of the guys to Delly post game along with the short but sweet comments from our guy Coach Blatt.

The locker room segment comes on first in the video and lasts 37 seconds.

The same people that complain Blatt doesn't get a fair roll of the dice harp on about anti-Zionism, anti-Semitism blah blah fucking blah.

He's a basketball coach, there is no "agenda" against the Zionist Jew. He's getting a hard time for a billion reasons, many unfair, but that is not one of them. Here is a little list of reasons that rank above that for reasons of his extra scrutiny:

1. He's the first NBA head coach to come straight from Europe.
2. He's coaching LeBron James.
3. He's made some legitimate errors that deserved criticism.

It's nauseating when people make it about that. If it's not about basketball, keep it to yourself I say; it's just embarrassing.

Faithfully,

A Zionist Jew.

With due respect, there are tons of tweets from people who declared their hate to Blatt without providing any basketball related justification. The fact that people hate him for being a Jewish-Israeli is nauseating. The fact that this is pointed out should be something you can agree or disagree with.

I search Twitter everyday for Blatt related tweets and I frankly don't know how you know what the motivation behind all those tweets.
When someone with an Arab name says : " Blatt did a good job...still hate him tho.." Is there a doubt it is not basketball related?

Honestly I don't have a problem when clearly the anti-israeli bias dictating someone's position towards Blatt. I just don't get how a coach with a good track record is generally being treated like crap by the media and peeps world wide.

Blatt doesn't get much respect, and I think an element of that is the idea that Blatt is just a figurehead or placeholder who's being essentially controlled by others has been somehow made plausible by the media and to a lesser extent by the way the Cavs players speak about Blatt. It's become believable to many that Blatt may just be kinda putting on a suit and cheerleading while the real work is being done by the assistant coaches and LeBron.

I guess I find this fairly laughable but doubt does start to creep in when you get constantly bombarded with the whole "LeBron calls the plays", "Lue calls the timeouts", "the players aren't listening to Blatt in the huddle", stuff.

Blatt does seem to be delegating a lot of the responsibilities, but no way do I think it's to the extent that he's basically doing nothing beyond being a figurehead. I suspect he realized that he had a lot to learn about the NBA and also that the people he was working with didn't trust him much, so he adapted and delegated a lot to the assistants and deferred to LeBron in some situations.

Love it.
Loved Blatt's short, to the point, sweet sweet comment.
