Derrick Rose: Outta Here!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Crazy talk, I'm not starting Rose ever again.

I'm starting Wade though because JR is inept trash at this juncture. IT and Wade is the best combo to start in the backcourt. Wade is still a very solid defender.

Rose and JR should come off the bench and hopefully have success vs backups.

Rose doesn't fit with Wade at all but he will fit with JR, Korver, Green, and Frye/TT.

IT and Rose defensively, Woof!

I pray Derrick Rose never sees the court for this organization again. If he does, it's a huge mistake on everyone's part.

I think Rose's ultimate value for this year is going to be the 1.5 million dollars in outgoing salary that his contract counts as in a trade.

Really liked the signing at the time....but I honestly believe the Wade signing plus the bone spurs completely ruined Rose's value to us. There just isn't a single situation where we're better off with Rose over Wade and there isn't enough minutes for the both of them to run the team with LeBron here. And that's not even including IT. Now that IT is back Rose is even further down the pecking order in guys I'd want to run the team during a game.

It was still absolutely worth a shot for the minimum. Cavs signed 3 guys to minimum deals...Wade,Green, Rose. They hit a grand slam with Wade. Hit a solid 2 run homer with Green. Rose they basically got hit by a pitch but immediately picked off at first. It's amazing how well our minimum signings have worked for us this year.

How many games has he even played though? And they were all during a time when the whole team was struggling get used to playing together... trust me I’ve NEVER been much of a fan of D Rose but I still think he deserves a shot to show us what he’s got in a back up pg role that he’s never played yet while our team has turned things around and is at full strength. I say give him a couple games when he comes back healthy and if he still doesn’t fit in and we start struggling again as a team then we know it’s because of him and we can trade him..

I agree, you can't count Rose out without giving him a fair shot. Rose easily has the potential to have one or two real good games in the playoffs or finals. I think the problem we have had with the warriors in the two year we lost were lack of lineup options because of depth and/or trust by the coaching staff. When this team is healthy they are 14 deep, Lue needs to mix and match to find as many lineups as possible. There is no telling which lineups the Warriors won't be able to match up with.

When the Yeti is in the house, you can't leave the pistol in the drawer when the bat is in your hands.

I’ll take both! Lol.. but seriously come on he’s had 7 games with us.. give him a couple more while things are starting to click now. Can’t hurt that much. If he does bad and it leads to loses stop playing him and try to include him in a trade.

Don't think the Cavs lose anything by exploring what Rose can offer. Still can't shoot from 3 but he is still a fairly efficient scorer in other ways, can get to the line, push the ball quickly up court.

Lue has both a headache and wonderful opportunity with the depth of this roster. Should be experimenting with all sorts of line ups just trying to find what answers they have to different situational requirements.

D.Rose per 36: 19 ppg 3 rpg 2 apg 47% FG $2.1 million salary
Calderon per 36: 8 ppg 3 rpg 2 apg 47% FG $2.3 million salary
Both suck at defense. Rose can create and attack but cant shoot the 3. Calderon can shoot the 3 but cant attack and get to the line.
I still think Rose is a better player overall (by a little). Why all the Rose hate and Calderon love?

I think it's pretty simple:

Cavs record with Derrick Rose: 4-3
Cavs record without Derrick Rose: 21-7

Sure, Derrick Rose isn't the only factor that made the difference in the turnaround. But he's a big factor.

Because we've actually watched all the games and those stats don't tell the whole story.

Rose's entire game relies on athleticism. If he doesn't have the hops/speed, then he's offering little else otherwise.

This dude is still on the roster?

Feels a lifetime(well maybe not that long) since he last played.

Keeping Wade fresh for the playoffs should be one of Lue's key goals this season. Wade, with his leadership qualities, clutchness and experience could be huge at that point.

If all Rose contributes is allowing that to occur then he has been worth the hassle.
