2005-06 SERIES: Tied 1-1

ChicagoCavFan's Notes
* Cleveland is 14-3 at home this season when playing opponents with a .500 or better record and are 6-0 at home against division foes.

* Flip came off the bench to score 17 points on 7-13 shooting and record a season high 3 steals in 36 minutes yesterday against Detroit.

* The Cavs have won 3 straight games against the Pistons in Cleveland. They have won each by at least 13 points.

* Z has scored in double figures in 11 straight games and since the All Star Break (4 games) is averaging 22.3 points and 10.0 rebounds.

* In his last 3 home games against Detroit, LeBron is averaging 34.0 points on .544 shooting, 6.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.8 steals. On the second day of back-to-back games this season (14 games), James is averaging 33.9 points on .507 shooting, 7.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists.

* The last time the Cavs played the same team on consecutive days was against Miami in April 2004. ... The Cavs have the most wins against division opponents in the Central with a 9-3 record. ... The Cavs defeated the Pistons, 97-84, at The Q on Dec. 31 to snap Detroit's nine-game winning streak. LeBron James led all scorers with 30 points.

Final Note

Cleveland should come out with vengeance on their minds. Call me optimistic, but I think we will. The Cavs will follow the trends mentioned above and beat Detroit by double digits.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Flip is in the starting lineup.

Re: Cleveland vs. Detroit

If nothing else I'd like to see the Cavs play with some intensity tonight. Yesterday, we got out-hustled and out-muscled. When Z got his head split open his teammates did nothing....the tone was set right there and then. Detroit knew they could play physical against us and we'd back down.
Lebron got tapped in the shin and then started limping around and had to sit and get iced. I'm sorry, but it looked like more drama than a serious injury requiring ice....just my opinion. Where's the toughness in this team? Aside from Z, I don't see a whole lot.

The Cavs have to show they can be physical tonight. If someone hacks us, hack them back. This team has to show they aren't afraid of anybody. Detroit plays hard and they all have each other's backs....I don't see that in Cleveland.

Losing a game is one thing....losing without putting up a fight is another and it's totally unacceptable.

I couldn't say it any better myself. I am really looking forward to the game tonight more so than any this year....

Re: Cleveland vs. Detroit

This is "gut check" time. No other way to put it. We HAVE to come out on a mission and take it to them. If we do that, we won't have to worry about losing. The fact that they roughed us up last night means that they are aware (and possibly a bit scared) of us. Their goal last night was to demoralize us, as we have matched up with them pretty well over the past few seasons. We need to throw it back in their face tonight. We NEED to go back to the pick-n-pop with Z. It's some of our most effective offense AND it will force Big Ben to come out of the paint.

Cavs - Pistons Prediction

Cavs 91 Pistons 87

Lebron 31 points
Z 11 boards
LeBron 11 dimes
Lebron 3 steals
Z 3 blocks
Marshall 4 treys

Usher at the game

It is gut check time. We can't let Detroit define physical, we have to define it. Drew likes to talk about the tough street ball he played in LA, tonight is a good night to go back to his roots. We will need all of the muscle and push we can gather to get these guys. Personally, I'ld like to see Lebron hard foul a Hamilton or string bean Prince just to make a statement.

This is a good night for a win. New Jersey will win, but Washington, Milwaukee, and Philly will all lose..

has it been confirmed yet that flip is starting? if someone said it i missed it..sorry...

Yeah they just said it on cavaliers countdown, flip IS in the starting lineup.

Already had it on the preview - lucky guess.

Go Cavs. And I want to see some retaliation.

It pisses me off to see Snow just let the guy have a layup. Foul that guy and foul him hard. Rake him over his arms.

Z playing great

Lebron just 3 points in the half?? he's in some poor form at the moment

I cant see the game (out of state). Can someone tell me why the Pistons are racking up the "T"s? Are the Cavs playing more physical? Are the refs not calling things?

just curious.

Well, Z evens the score with Rasheed with a flagrant foul....I swear he's the only one with balls on this team sometimes.
