He's a very plus defender..
His ts is around .400. But his 3pt % is .350
Needs to limit his role. should be proto typical 3d player

I'd be surprised if he's getting this much play in Miami if he's not doing what asked. He can't do it. He doesn't want to do it, and he's never going to do it. And it's why he'll be in China next season.
He can dribble and penetrate .Dion isn't a 3 and D player and it wont be his role.
He is a proficient ball handler with excellent passing skills. He can also create his own shot.
He should be taking 13-17 shots a game and getting 4-6 assist as well as playing defense including rotating onto the 3 if a mismatch occurs.
Dion shot selection( forcing shots or out of rhythm ) and willingness to extend the play with his passing as well as holding on to the ball too long has always been his shortcomings.
He can dribble and penetrate .
Are his numbers at the rim and ftr still bad?
Rubio can't finish but he still draws enough attention to bring defense out of position and pass. I can see him also in that role.
Is it just a lot of step back long twos? Why is his 2pt fg% so low

Dions jumper sweet spot is 15-19 feet this season. he is hitting 45% from that range so far.He can dribble and penetrate .

He is only shooting 30% in the paint down 10% from last season and has been blocked 10 times.
he shoots within 5 feet as often as he does 15-24.
If Dion is dribbling he is either driving to the basket or taking the pull up Jumper. once he gets within 15 feet he is pretty much driving to the basket.
if we look at what he is doing this season

Dion's shooting drops dramatically if he shoots off the second dribble.
His role is a bit different this season than the last two but we only 12 games into the season
If Dion managed to keep himself on the court on a team that went to the conference finals
“He changed his game,” Thunder forward Nick Collison said. “When he got here, the ball would stop when he'd get it. By the end he was really good at shooting open shots or driving and moving it. He was one of our best two-way wing players. He did a good job for us.”
“I learned how to win,” Waiters told The Oklahoman on Friday about his time with the Thunder. “I pretty much learned everything I know from OKC.”
“At first, I was (disappointed) but then it was like … life goes on. Once the team was pretty much broken up, I kinda figured where it was going, so I just wanted to make the best decision for me. Not for money or things like that. I wanted to go somewhere I could have fun and try to prove myself.”

Dion has a leadership role in Miami and has been given more freedom than other coaches have allowed and he still is a gym rat putting in the work off the court.
I think we will see Dion Continue to evolve
