At the risk of annoying those who dislike the fact that I like
both the warriors and cavs, Im going to go ahead and say that I don't think much should be made of Greens knocking Harden's "injured" hand away.
If it was that injured, he (Harden) shouldn't be trying to do sneaky holding stuff with it. And as far as Green's reaction - he, it seemed, it was
trying to draw attention to what Harden was doing, and intentionally knocking his arm away aggressively and obviously - which is pretty much what any of us would do, I think, if someone kept grabbing a bunch of your belly/jersey as a sneaky attempt to hold you.
I can't imagine him
gently pushing Harden's arm away, while whispering "just between you and me, stop doing that. I was going to knock that arm away aggressively, but hey, I know it is injured and you probably forgot, and that might harm it further, so I will be gentle. Also, the refs might see what you've been doing and misinterpret it, and I know deep down you didnt really mean to do that. Good luck with the rest of the game"
So yeah, I think trying to spin this into another "Evil Draymond Act" thing is a bit silly.
He -is- a hothead. And it -does- cost the warriors, when he mindlessly, instinctually retaliates. But he doesnt seem like a Ndamakong Suh, or Grayson Allen "try-to-do-some-sneaky-damage-to-opponents-and-hope-no-one-sees" type. Anything he does is about as visible as it can get, including the dumb lashing out with his legs, or whatever. No sneaky subtlety.
I guess in short, I'm saying he is a often out of control with his retaliation and temper, but not a "sneaky dirty" player. I've seen people in this forum suggest teams go at him to try and elicit a retaliation response like this, in an effort to get him ejected. That pretty much says what I am saying - people know he has a weakness for retaliating. But not for initiating, really.
But that is just my opinion, colored by the fact that I don't have the hatred of the W's that many here do. I'm very much looking forward to another Cavs/Warriors finals. Ive really enjoyed both of the last two
I hope it is a regular dynastic thing for the next 3-4 years.
