Dream Team 4: Golden State Warriors

Ya the one one when body check Dame first

I just don't understand why he's allowed to shove people on every drive. And the way he contests shots is to make it look like he jumps backward while clearly making a ton of body contract with the driver. Multiple times yesterday while contesting a layup, he basically had his forearm into the opposing players chest. Foul? Nope.

And Iggy has his own special set of defensive rules too. No other player in the NBA is allowed to slap the wrists of opposing players like he is. I'm sure we all remember the crap he got away with in the 2015 Finals. That shit happens every game with no call.

Listen if the NBA wants to bring hand checking back, it will have no objection from me. But it can't bring it back only for the Warriors and then call touch fouls on every shot where Steph falls down (which is like every other shot he takes). The inconsistency is infuriating.

Game 2 isn't sold out FYI. You can still buy tickets on Warriors.com

We all knew he would resign simply bc they can't sign anyone else of value. He and Livingston will get big contracts to stay and it'll will be a major contributor to their demise.

I was told, repeatedly, and by multiple people that he would want a larger contract somewhere else.

The Warriors aren't magically going to have more money, he's just going to take less because he loves it there.

bingo. Iguodala is going to get some big offers to go else where. Even if the warriors dont have to match those offers, they will still need to get close, and the warriors are goign to end up owing an injured old iguodala a lot of money.

Kevin Durant questionable for Game 2 with left calf strain

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant is listed as questionable for Wednesday night's Game 2 of their first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers because of a strained left calf.

Durant experienced some cramping during Sunday's Game 1, a 121-109 win in which Durant finished with 32 points and 10 rebounds.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Durant didn't practice on Tuesday, noting, "If he didn't practice, there's concern."

Durant previously missed 19 games with a strained MCL and a bone bruise in his left leg.

In addition to Durant, Golden State guard Shaun Livingston (finger) and forward Matt Barnes (ankle sprain) are also listed as questionable.

The Blazers will continue to be without center Jusuf Nurkic, who is recovering from a right leg fracture.

How much can they offer him though? Only the MLE, correct?

Durant gets $32M based on this article, Curry gets $36M if he wants it I believe (entering 9th season and having won an MVP), Klay $18M, Draymond $16M... that's $102M for those 4 players, plus they have 3 other players under contract for $3.2M... I think the cap is $103M? So even if Curry can only take $30M or something, they're at basically $100M for 7 players. So, that leaves MLE for Igoudala? Which is how much $$?

Not saying he won't re-sign, but if someone offers him $16M per year for 3 years and the Warriors can only pay him $9M/year, he has to think about it.

Either way they are going to have the 4 players plus an MLE player plus all minimum contracts (or BAE if they have it for one player).

Durant and curry are both injury prone.
Kind of a pot calling the kettle black as a cavs fan with kyrie and love
But Durant and curry have had devastating injuries their entire careers

I can easily see the next few years of that team being derailed over and over again by injury

This post is criminally underrepped. No one ever calls out Iggy for getting away with multiple reaching fouls a game from his blatant swipes at ball handlers. It's infuriating to watch.

It is known that the Larriors are the leagues and the refs golden boys, They operate on a different set of rules than the rest of the league and get away with a shit ton of fouls and dirty plays thats being categorized as "good defense" lmao

Leage office basically conceded the fact that Draymond kicks people dangerously, hes done it many times this season yet again with zero consequences, Its actually disgusting the special treatment this team gets.

Warriors opponents.

They have bird rights on Livingston and Iggy, can sign them for what ever they want.

Will sign Durant to a max first most likely, that is the interesting part. Does Durant want to opt in and take less to stay or does Curry take less to stay?

They will very quickly get in to tax hell and that is where this off season gets interesting.

They will have the MLE to sign a player, but do they use it. They could easily get to tax payer level with just 9 players, the other 6 might all have to be vet min's.

They will lack depth, but their top 5 will still be best in NBA if Curry and Durant stay and probably take a bit less than they could make elsewhere.

Also 2 years more and Klay comes up, that will be interesting as he will get max money somewhere.

This core could explode this off season or in 2 years, but its coming.
