Dream Team 4: Golden State Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Steph went 0-13.

I don't really agree with that. Mudiay and Murray are not better than anything Sacramento has. Mudiay isn't better than a whole lotta people. That's overselling the talent on Denver.

Mudiay isn't that great but Denver has a team full of legit NBA players that can play/contribute. If those teams switched personnel except for Cousins and Jokic, Cousins team would be a pretty decent team, I think. Probably a 41-46 win team, 6 or 7 seed in the West. It'd be the best team Boogie ever played on. Cousins with Gallo/Chandler/Faried/Barton/ Nelson /Plumlee.

Jokics team, on the other hand, even with a healthy Gay... I think that team is a guaranteed lottery team/bottom feeder. Not.the worst team in the West but I think theyd be a step behind the Pelicans, for example.

Not a knock on Jokic he's a beast.. Mainly a knock on Sacramentos current decision makers.

Malone.might be a better coach than Joerger too. Joerger isn't bad...But I think his success in Memphis was a little overrated because that team is talented and very good at running/policing themselves because they have a group of mature vets who know each other very well. I think Mike Malone is a damn good coach too. I actually think if he was our HC and Mike Brown was his lead assistant, one of those 60 win seasons could have turned out differently.

NOP can't win a series against them, but might be able to tire out KD and Draymond out.

ADavis has become a better post player this year (was never good in the post in his career) and can force GS to have to play McGee or Pachulia and that means that the Warriors can't play their best offensive lineups. Before this year, they could get away with allowing Durant to guard him in the midpost and perimeter meaning Green would be on Cousins.

Conversely, maybe GS takes its chances and forces AD to chase people around the perimeter if it stays small. It will be interesting to see if the matchup comes to fruition. It will be a great litmus test of sorts to see what wins out in smallball vs bigsball. But it's interesting that both AD and Cousins can shoot the three and should only get better at it. They could even play "5 out" if they wanted or "1 in 4 out." So many things at play here.

Maybe CP3 goes there and makes things really interesting.

I think more than anything all of those questions you raised are not typically things at play for a 1 vs 8 seed so at the very least this is an awesome break against the Warriors if the Pelicans are able to get that 8 seed

Its still lopsided in terms of talent. Shaun Livingston would be their fourth best player, for instance.

But it has the potential of making KD and Green work harder than they otherwise would have had to.

I think it's a great scenario for AD and DC right now. They're both insanely mobile bigs who can stretch the floor and take it one on one. It'll kind of suck for my fantasy team though...

Or hopefully puncturing one of their lungs with a fucking blow to the cage son.

Green kicks cousin's in the balls cousin's breaks greens jaw

They can't stay small. If they do, it'll look like the ASG out there and Davis (AND Cousins) will clean up). They will throw the big bodies out there, try to contain these monsters, and have their guards carry the team offensively.
