Rewatched the game and paid attention to Mobley.
1. He uses his shoulder to generate space and leverage. He needs to use his lower body more to generate space and not lose balance.
2. The passes the guards give to Mobley are off target. He needs to improve his mitts but give him at least a chance to catch it.
3. That floater game needs reps. Every time he steps on the paint its one dribble and a floater, no need to be physical all the time. That was a weapon for him in college and his rookie year.
4. Needs more squats.
He was using a jump hook earlier in the season and he's gone away from it. When he gets the ball in the paint, he needs to go up and stop hesitating especially from players who are smaller or not shot blockers.

I think people forget how dominant players like Ben Wallace, Rodman, and Garnett could be just with their defense. They changed the game. Mobley does have that swag. What doesn't get highlighted with these stats is how he changes how the other team has to play. They just don't go at him. They defer pretty much every time down the court.

Also defensive perimeter players like Ice are incredibly important. Broadcast team was adamant about that.

What has been encouraging is his finishings in the 4th these past 2 home games. There are things to build on there feom an experience and confidence perspective.

He doesn't have butter hands. He has a butter brain. It's like everything is moving to fast for him

Franz Wagner tried to go at him multiple times in today's game and the results were not good in almost all of them.

Franz Wagner after their game 4 win said something like just go through Mobley and they can score easily. He learned his lesson the hard way. Got blocked on game 5 and never found any rhythm in game 7.

Agree. Squats and deadlifts.

Evan Mobley is already one of the best defenders in the game.

His offense might just take more time to develop. A big positive has been his addiiton of a three point shot this year. It's not great, but it's in there. As long as he keeps growing offensively every year, there's no reason for anyone to doubt him.

How freaking cool were some of those rebounds? He looked like Stretch Armstrong out there!
