Ex Guards are the Best Guards {'24}

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
From todays MLBTradeRumors.com chat:

Nolan Jones

Is Nolan Jones the real deal or does he have a Hunter Renfroe ceiling? His BABIP was extraordinarily high last year and even higher during away games which is weird for Coors.

Steve Adams

I think there's real power/speed there, but I wouldn't expect him to replicate last year's rate stats. Like you said, the .401 BABIP is bound to regress, and his 30% strikeout rate is pretty concerning. I think there's a world where you lop 50-60 points off the average and OBP and he's still hitting .225 to .240 with a respectable OBP, plenty of pop and some speed though.

That's not what he was in 2023, but it's still got value.

We can get him back now
Perhaps, bring him back as an NRI... would be a good story.. he's well admired by the youngest fans in the Guardian fanbase..

After playing in parts of seven Major League seasons, Tony Wolters has officially retired. The catcher made the announcement on his Instagram page, and noted that he’ll be joining the Rockies in a coaching capacity. MLB.com’s Thomas Harding writes that Wolters will be the bench coach for the Rockies’ rookie ball affiliate in the Arizona Complex League.

Harold can rake. His OPS+ the last three years, starting with his year in Cleveland, are 92, 118, and 125. He'll be 29 all season. He only pulled the ball 22% of the time last year and had 12 home runs in 400 AB's, so as a hitter he's a Yandy Diaz type, but he had a career high slugging percentage of .460. His career walk percentage is 4.4%, up slightly to 5.1% last year. He takes his cuts and hits 78% up the middle or oppo. Not really the profile we're going for but a very good hitter nonetheless (.313 BA last year).
